What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I intended to do personal, fun, fave things after my shops. But I did not feel well and had to skip those today. Oh, well. There will be other fun-city shopping days in future, and I will have my little fun then. When I arrived home and checked mail, I discovered a welcome check for previous work. Huzzah! The amount of the check (known fee plus unanticipated) made me feel so good that I grinned and sat down and figured out which accounts deserve this boon the most. It was a good day. I have two days off from this biz and will return to it on Friday.

May is what I hear. I do not have a firm date yet.

HA! I thought this was in the conference thread and I kept looking and looking and was like WHERE DID IT GO!

And I thought I was having a confusing day, LOL.
Today I took my two cats to the vet for their annual checkup, then did some of the 'big' grocery shopping. Came home and cooked some of the food I bought for quick lunches down the line. Later on in the day I cooked dinner.

I like to do cooking as prep for later too. But mostly I just cook brown rice and roast veggies and then freeze it in serving sizes, so that when I need something healthy and filling it's handy. Otherwise I will grab a bag of chips when I'm hungry. When I'm on the road it's more complicated though.
I need to do a load of laundry and hopefully I'll find time to clean out the fridge today. Also need to go to the store for milk, we go through so much milk it's a never ending battle keeping it on hand.
After my little playtime on this forum-- which will last as long as a cuppa or two will last-- I will putter around the house until it is time for errands.

Then, and because the temperature is perfect, I will enjoy the porch with book, cuppa and birds for music.

WeGoLook right after work, homemade hamburger helper, half mashed potatoes (mashed with a wisk and splash of milk, salt, pepper, cilantro) and corn.
Another day of shopping coming up, but I am hitting all the resale stores after I'm done. Yesterday I found my new (old) kitchen island. It's straight out of the 40's with bead board, painted dark green and with a tiled top. Some of the tiles are decorative with little pots of herbs painted on. $35. I'd like to find some old cabinets instead of new ones. Our house was built in 1895. Then I could sand them and give them an updated finish which I think would be kind of cool. I really hate most new cabinets. I can stand shaker and bead board. And that's about it. So ReStore and other resale shops, here I come.
CoffeeQueen, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I've learned to really like tofu. Especially pressed, sliced into sticks, seasoned, and baked until crunchy. The sticks freeze nicely, and it just takes a couple of seconds to grab a serving and throw it in my lunch box on the way out the door.

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my annual physical, then followed it up today by getting some blood work done. In a little bit I'm leaving to take Youngest Son out for lunch with his Godmother, who I've known since second grade. When I get home I have to straighten the house for a meeting Hubby is hosting tonight.

New schedule. I really did not care about the convoluted explanation. I only cate that it means more play time on the porch today, a different set of shops tomorrow, and an extra shop day next week. This is okay.

CQ,

Your new/old kitchen sounds wonderful! Charming! Delightful! Vintage! Swell!

Your taste in keeping with an older home is perfect.....vintage all the way. Today was errands, housework, getting my garage cleaned out, and figuring out how to sell stuff online.

I need to figure that out as well. I have had pretty good luck with Craigs List in the past though.
I live alone, Craig's list, not so comforting for me. I'm signed with a buy and sell in my town, but gosh, they want things for pennies.....I have a beautiful Brighton dinner bag I'm trying to sell there, and no luck...they sell for about 125.00 and was used twice. Better to give it to a friend at this point.

Omg!! I love Mimi's Cafe. I checked Mobee for assignments, but didn't see any for them. Which app are you ladies using?
I don't recall anyone saying they shopped Mimi's. This thread is more about what we are doing when not shopping.

BTW, lots of shoppers are not women.

Oh, please don't unravel anything. I like Ravel just fine. Bolero is a favorite piece of music.

Anyway, I will do as much of my old project as possible. Bolero will play softly in the background. Cleared space will emerge. Legs will extend fully into the new clearings, gaining healthful strerches. All will be well in my world. Namaste.

No, I'm not unraveling anything. I am more of a "stitch it back up" kinda gal.

Dusting and cleaning today.
My mom is coming home from a trip today. She's been missing my son like crazy. We will go to her house and visit.
I'm trying to figure out how to import a (Microsoft Word) Word Art graphic into a Paint slide, and come to the conclusion that maybe it can't be done.

Another day of nothing but shopping. I will take all of next week off unless someone wants to throw gobs of money at me. One bit of good news is that the contractor finally submitted his paperwork to the insurance company, and the adjuster called yesterday to say he was cutting a check. So we should be able to get started on reconstruction as soon as the contractor can fit us into his schedule. I really have to make up my mind about cabinets.
First of all, join Mimi's reward program, you get one buy one, get one....I go on that all the time for breakfast.
I think they are (or were) shopped, but can't find them. Today, I'm driving to the Valley for an oil change and car wash, then meeting my best friend for a visit, then home (mall) to play around...no housework, it's the Sabbath, don't ya know.

I just cleared out a garage full of stuff. I'm a young woman...mommy...and take great care to be safe while selling online. No problems. I just started selling online and via apps like LetGo. I actually had quick success. Even with Craigslist I sold appliances and baby furniture and had easy interactions and quick sales. If you can't sell your handbag online or through an app, you could always take it to a high-end consignment store. Of course, you may have tried that already...or sold it by now smiling smiley.
The high end here in L.A. give you next to nothing, I've tried them all. Beverly Hills has four upscale Consignment stores that take Louie Vuitton, and have the price tags still on. Celebrity's on the red carpet wear things once then bring them to Consignment and they are new, selling for just under what the stores price them at....our town's store takes only what's trendy and are youth oriented, certain brands are hot like Michael Kors..Brighton seems to be pass'e as young girls no longer carry dinner bags....maybe I'll try Caigs list.....fingers crossed. My daughter doesn't want it...sad smiley
