What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Now that all my reports for the day are out of the way, I'm looking forward to some mindless Internet reading.

LOL you all are seriously funny. Yes, Lucy is doing well. She doesn't put weight on the leg yet but she walks really well on just 3. We don't go for long walks yet, just to the end of the block and back so that there is time and space to potty. Irene, that is how a great house is built. With someone who won't compromise quality. Walesmaven, you have just described me perfectly. Ridiculous with moments of brilliance.
The other day when hubby and I had artichokes for an appetizer, we at the leaves and I saved the hearts. I had planned on using them in a spinach artichoke dip but found another way to use them. Tonight I toasted opened ciabatta rolls, then put sliced artichoke hearts on the rolls and melted sharp white Vermont cheddar over the top on each side, then added some hot slices of Boar's Head turkey, fresh Romaine lettuce from MIL's garden, avocado, and some more of that roasted garlic tomato aioli. My husband added bacon to his. Oh it was sooo good.
My spouse fired the contractors so our project is at a momentary standstill until we get replacements. I don't blame her, they wouldn't return our calls or take into consideration that we have busy lives. They would just show up without any warning or promise to call and then nothing until they arrived out of the blue. It wasn't working for us.
Home finally! After a $260 car repair, a lunch shop, and a 4.5 hour drive home. Doing the lunch report before sleep. Was supposed to leave in the morning for a 2 day route of 10 Bank of WalMart shops but thinking about pushing those to Monday/Tuesday. The due date is the 31st but I'm fairly certain the original date was 8/15.

Tomorrow, my book club is going to a food truck festival. Since I don't go crazy with the calories on a regular basis, I'm splurging this tomorrow! I'm getting:

Porky Fries (fries covered in pulled pork, BBQ sauce, onions and cheese)
Crab Quesadilla
Caprese Sub
Limeade

She is kind. I would just stop by your house for dinner every day.

JAS, don't get scared now. Eventually, I tamed The Perfectionist and read an entire book even though there was Work To Be Done.

The book was not as amusing as this forum, but it was wonderful in its own way. I might do the same thing tomorrow, with a different book... smiling smiley

So this went sideways. I had the wrong time in mind and got there an hour early. Of course, the ladies weren't there. Neither was the porky fries truck. I ended up getting a rice bowl, some tacos, limeade and I headed home.

Honny,
One of the things I love about my many DC parking shops is that I land near so many lines of great food trucks that gather near those city office buildings each work day. Dc has some good truck food!

Today I happened upon a church garage sale, where I found a comforter set for $10 to replace the faded chenille bedspread in one of the spare rooms. It even had a pair of curtains that I can turn into valances! Now I just need to get a set off ecru sheets to coordinate with it. Then go on a hunt for new, coordinating artwork for the walls. I LOVE a challenge!

I wish I had time to do the food truck shops. Maybe someday it will all dovetail and I and food truck will be in the same place at the same time. Until then, I would occasionally treat myself to a beloved food truck, if I could find it again. I saw it in three different places and then did not see it again. I hope it still exists. Their food is worth the money.

I go for an exercise walk every day at lunch. Today took me to Nordstrom Rack!

There are so many that I bring my lunch. It's food truckie overload.

I've been to 3 since I started working there in January, and they were worth every single calorie!

Where ever you are parked, see if the Urban Poutine truck is near you. Highly recommended!!!!!!! They were so good, I took a picture of the dish and it's my laptop wallpaper. At work.

I see it frequently. Have you been? I plan on doing that one in August.

Amen to that.
