What are you having for dinner? AGAIN!

My Corelle plates and bowls have almost all been broken over the years. I have 2 plates and 4 of the bowls left (I once had 8 of each). I still have all of the appetizer plates since they don't get used often. I have never dropped any of my Corningware, and I have quite a bit of it. It's great for baking, love it, but can't freeze anything in it. Mine are all of varying sizes and stack well together, except for the lids. I still have all the lids. Those are kind of a PITA for storage.

Jas, I found that I can store my lids of my corningware pans (that were wedding presents 54 years ago) on the pans turned upside down and they stack well.

Homemade chili in the crock pot with a chopped chuck roast, venison sausage, onions, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, basil, thyme, beef stock, water. Crackers and cheese on top, and leftover chocolate cake for dessert

CorningWare glass-ceramic products made prior to 2009 contain arsenic; those manufactured since are arsenic free.

Yes, that is true, but my corningware pans (different sizes) are stacked inside of each other, so I can't stack the lids on the pans themselves. It's okay though, I have them in one of those pull-out drawers. The lids just take up a bit more room than I would like.

My corningware is pretty old. No one in my family has ever gotten sick from cooking with them.

You had me until the steamed carrots, LOL!!! I like mine cooked with the roast and gravy. They have to be cooked for so long that they absorb the other flavors and don't taste much like carrots anymore.

Sounds tasty! I am curious about people's dinner timelines. We eat around 8:30-9 p.m., sometimes even later. We used to eat around 5:3-6 when the kids were growing up, but just got later and later as time went by, especially when out of the country. What about everyone else?

I had a smoked turkey leg from Walmart for dinner. I bought it for something and my bf doesn't like turkey so I saved it for when he was gone. I was going to put it in my air fryer, but it was too big! I put it in my cast iron pan and OMG it was amazing..better than the ones at Disney or local Ren Faires. I took the skin off, plopped it in the air fryer and put a local hot sauce called Cilanktro (from Hank's Hot sauce) on it and OMG it was amazing too. I'm filling out my Walmart to go order and I put 6 legs on there lol for next time.

I love Ren Faire! I used to go to the one in Texas (NE of Austin). I can't remember the name of the city it was in. But it was cool seeing King Henry walking through eating that turkey leg. And other people too, but especially King Henry. I had fun dressing up as a serving wench. My husband drank lots of ale.

JAS, I dress up as a wench as much as possible =D I'd also be the one drinking all the ale, though. I only was at Ren Faire once and it was part of a FIll A Seat program and I got so full and so lifted, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

My daughter is making stir fried veggies thai style with thai noodles...she is a great cook. i am reading emails as usual. We generally have been eating around 9:30 or 10 because she and her friends around the corner get together at sunset every night in their yard and sit in their coats and gloves 6 feet apart until they cannot stand it any more and then they all go home to their respective insides of homes.
Today I woke up early, well actually really never went to sleep, and went to the grocery at 6:30 AM to beat the crowd, so tomorrow I am making Ropa Vieja....bought a big piece of beef on sale. They only had about 6 packages on the sale price and when I passed by 30 minutes later there were none left. Hardly anyone was there so that was good.The bad news was they were still stocking shelves so there were things they did not have. No garlic!!! They said they have not had it for over a week. How will I survive without garlic?

I made a BLT for Ann and I had some delicious chili that was in the freezer. I made home made salsa today and put two heaping spoonfuls on top and some fritos. It was so good.
We eat anywhere between 7:30 and 9:00.

I think garlic will probably make a nice windowsill garden addition. I think I will take the bottom of a few clove sections and put them into shotglasses. I did read that garlic ramps (the green shoots from the top of the garlic cloves( are quite tasty and can be used in recipes, so that sounds neat. I'll let you all know.

I have a Mexican dish I made with rice, refried beans, and canned chili, I had tomato and avocado salad with it. I made enough rice, beans and chili to freeze for another time.

Texas Chili (I think) homemade with corn bread. Beer and vinegar peppers go in my chili, lots kidney beans and hamburger. I think real chili has only meat, but I like the beans. A long time ago I took a few winning recipes and made my own recipe.
sandyF I use jar garlic for recipes that are like chili, soups etc. They do this on the cooking channel. Taste fine, just get a good brand with no additives, minced or diced. I know it's not the same as fresh, but works with some recipes.
