Trader Joe's excellent New York Strip steak, always pick one up when they are from New Zealand, so good...mashed potato's and green beans.
My favorite "candy" beside dark chocolate is Licorice, but I do limit myself (story of my life).

I did a garage shop today that was 1 block from a favorite Tex-Mex restaurant. So, I brought home enchiladas and beans for supper tonight. AND, enough more for another supper.

? i dunno. This is a merch day. My feet will tell me how many merches and now far we can go today. In a perfect world, I would be good and eat from the produce section at Whole Foods or something. Yeah, let's do exactly that.

What I call American chop suey. Hamburger,( or turkey or grains)onions, green pepper, garlic, S & P, Lg. can tomatoes, American cheese, elbow pasta.
General Mills makes Yoplait, and YQ, the new high protein yogurt I mentioned...it's actually quite good, with 15 grams of protein. but they didn't have it around when she was 13 I am sure!

I'm going to try the yogurt though. Lower sugar is always fine with me.
I roasted garlic, crushed it, and cut fresh oregano, basil, and parsley from the garden, then dried the herbs a bit before steeping everything in a good quality olive oil over night. Added some salt and parmesan reggiano to the mix before dipping with warm chunks of fresh Italian bread...served with a glass of red wine, olives on the side, salad after that. Yum.
Can I come for dinner JASFLALMT. I purchase all of my olive oils and vinegars, mustards from HomeGoods, great value for great products that are not in the supermarket. Excellent quality, Italian, Greek oils and olives.
First Cold Pressed extra Virgin oil is what I buy. Good olive oil is like a fine wine. I do grow my own herbs when I can.

Trying 'pumpkin sauce for pasta'- on chicken. We will use about half on the chicken and refrigerate the rest for a future pasta meal (or throw it out if we don't like it). We will see.....

I hate pumpkin, but love chicken and pasta...I hope it turns out well for you, though. Once again, I realize I am the minority and most people like pumpkin.
A local grocery store had a "game day special" today: 8 pieces of fried chicken, a side of potato salad, and a 6-pack of coke for $10. Hubby "cooked" dinner for me today since I had to work, LOL! My stepdaughter came over, she flies back to Texas tomorrow. We had wine with it and will save the coke for a night when we are having rum and coke cocktails smiling smiley
No worries. For us, the only "rule" is to try something. So this sauce was much like pumpkin soup. The hubby likes it! I see it as versatile: as is as sauce, as soup alone or with nuts, green things, or other goodies, as the basis for a sweetish version of tortilla soup, for pasta, for whatever.... grinning smiley

It is a good concept. It can go sweeter or tarter, smoother or crunchier, or...whatever I can dream up to do with it... this is the part I love.

I like pumpkin pie, but draw the line at sauce for pasta, I fear. Give me a good pesto every time, please!

Until now, I thought of pumpkin as: Charles Kuralt segment; pie; bread; cookies; and soup. Now, I have a larger view of it. grinning smiley

It is EOM, a la kitchen. We are using up leftovers, including the versatile pumpkin sauce.

To me, pumpkin, butternut squash, yams, sweet potatoes, and cooked carrots all have a similar flavor, and i personally don't care for it. I know there is a ton of beta carotene in them, super healthy, but I just don't like that flavor. I don't even like pumpkin pie. My family thinks i am weird (they could be right, lol).
Cooked carrots in a soup or stew are ok as long as they have been cooked a long time and have married with the other flavors appropriately. But my mom used to cook them as a side dish with butter and honey. Everyone else loved them.
Nice for you, LOL. I have had fresh squeezed carrot juice with ginger root. That's entirely different, even though I am not a big fan of pickled ginger (always push it away from my sushi rolls at the sushi restaurant). People use it as a palate cleanser, just not for me.
Here in Ohio they make a pastry with pumpkin where they roll it up with some sort of creme filling, kind of like a Little Debbie Swiss roll only a sweet pumpkin bread instead of chocolate cake. It's quite popular.
