I like that I have found a place where everyone is as enthusiastic about mystery shopping as I am! I have tried to turn others on to mystery shopping and thry do a couple and then lose interest. I find most people just don't get how I enjoy it so much.
I like the fact that I can read well articulated posts!
I have learned a lot from this forum. I knew nothing when I first started out. I read everything I could and listened to the members that made sense. The others, I ignored. I signed up with the recommended companies here and have been doing this for a couple of years now. Whenever I want to sign up with a new company, I check here first and read all about it before making a commitment. There are a few members here I trust and will act upon their suggestions and recommendations.
This forum is fantastic. The majority of the members are helpful and kind.

After having been here for a while, I really appreciate the "Toggle." I've learned a lot from many posters but now I am able to stay away from posts or a few posters who previously spoiled my days with their obvious agenda. Just a click and I could visit and even lurk in chaotic threads and learn a lot from very knowledgeable posters. Interactions are much more positive and become more discussions not arguments. Negative vibes are more controllable.

I like the ideas other posters have for keeping their shops organized and tips on filling out reports.
I actually love reading whatever Cettie posts, be it from industry insightfulness to the utterly bizarre. Either which way, Cettie's posts are pure gold.
Among so much other wisdom from so many generous posters, I so glad that I learned never to accept a Papa John's shop.

The forum is an invaluable source of tips and information for any mystery shopper. It is also good for information on msc's and schedulers. I am glad Jacob started it. I really enjoy the newsletters too. It is fun to read the profiles.
Lots of info and a place to communicate with people who do the same thing. I actually have fun imagining what some of you all look like as well ;P

I can't talk to anybody I know about mystery shopping and my experiences. Either because they don't know I MS, or because they don't care. I come home after a great shop and try talking to my wife about it, but she just smiles and nods, not knowing the incredible amount of skill, lying, deception and stealth that has just taken place to successfully accomplish what I've just done. I love coming here because you all understand what it feels like when everything falls in place; the false back-story holds up after the sales associate's questions and cross-examining, the employee is wearing their nametag and nails all their points, the bathroom is clean, the cashier hands over a receipt without needing to ask for it, the fries are hot and not too salty, and the pen you keep in your car to jot down notes isn't out of ink.
I am very grateful for this forum and also Volition's forum. They are both very good sources of information when needed. I used to rely on Service Intelligence's forum until they merged and changed their name. Sadly, their forum has disappeared.

skill, Yes! Lying, deception and stealth NO! It is acting, getting into your part and playing it beautifully.
Acting is what makes you walk into a fine motor car dealer and be allowed to test drive a $70,000 vehicle like you can afford it cash. You can walk into that department store and drop $150 for lunch and go to that jeweler and they take out a tray of glitter for you to approve.
Acting is going into a burger shop looking like you live in the neighborhood. The Beggars and the "ladies" that offer you their "pleasures" lets you know you are in the "poor side of town". Undercover officers and others asks you if you are buying or selling drugs because that is where people go to buy and sell.
Oh! and you get paid for the shops.
I love Halloween. It happens many times a year when I dress wealthy or poor and perform beautifully.

I'm fairly new and like the level of professionalism here. This forum seems to be a cut above from other forums I've been involved with.
I have learned a lot and enjoy reading the threads. I have also been blown away by the generosity of the members, some of whom have PMed me to offer more substantial advise.
