Shop invitation for lesbians

Just received a shop invite that said I would be required to go to a jewelry store and inquire about a diamond ring for my fiance (woman giving a woman a gift). The notice said if I was not comfortable pretending I was getting engaged to a woman that it was ok to decline.
I declined. Certainly unusual shop posting and certainly a first in my many years of mystery shopping.

They must be tracking to see if there is some kind of discrimination / bias /etc. The sales / features / benefits of the ring don't change. But certainly the store personnel could treat people differently.

Wonder if they want guy on guy too (not that I would do the shop, i'm not even interested for the hetero scenario). Why just chicks for chicks?

I bet Danny Thomas would have enjoyed this type of shop. Oh wait, I thought you said Lebanese!

Years ago there was a hotel chain operated by a famous gay entrepreneur who wanted male shoppers checking in to his hotels as a couple to see if they were treated differently. No offer for females. Could just be the owner's particular platform?
Yup, just sounds like they want to confirm whether they are losing sales because some of their sales people may be lame about same sex couples.

We only live once, it’s really disheartening that some people treat other people badly based solely on who they love.

It sounds like this was a targeted email, there may be several scenarios and others are getting something different.

I'd happily play lesbian to out the haters! It's no different to me than pretending to be interested in an apartment. But, I haven't seen these here.
I saw the email for this shop and I believe it had the word "inclusive" in it somewhere, so yeah, they're seeing how they treat people in same sex engagements. Too far for me so I deleted it.

The company who is shopping his is very woke- their report forms have odd questions about diversity, inclusion, environmental standards and adherence to them, whether the sales associate mentioned how products were manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner which in most cases make no sense on a shop for a handbag or upscale luxury product. I am not surprised by this at all considering the company offering it.

The company is NOT based in the US- The schedulers all write a bit oddly- definitely not American based- and the report forms are to DIE FOR- I mean you want to DIE when you do the report with the repetitive questions obviously written by someone who is not familiar with the English language- same thing over and over again worded a bit differently with WHAT CAN BE IMPROVED at the end of each question. OH MY just gives me a headache thinking about it! Thank God I am not a lesbian so I do not qualify. LOL

Oh, so the company is ‘awake’ and is making the effort to not have close-minded employees who will discriminate against someone because of his/her sexuality?

Sounds like a place I would like to do business with.

We have become an extremely polarized society. It's not any particular fault of one side or the other. It's not always political either. Maybe if people treated people as individuals and not groups, we would respect everyone's rights more. So many people lump people into categories or groups. Even those claiming to be the most tolerant individuals cannot tolerate another persons intolerance.

What was the golden rule? Treat others how you want to be treated. Let's get back to that!
Dating myself but I actually met Danny Thomas when he was in the ICU at the hospital I worked at. I got a request to bring a phone up to his room and grabbed the chance to bring it myself rather then farm it out to one of my staff. This was way way before cell phones and the ICU rooms did not have land lines in them.

Woke = the manners of my Grandparents. Who were born before 1900.

Teaching kids to count is fine, but teaching kids what counts is best.

woke seems like a silly word for this. maybe better words would be considerate, compassionate, empathetic…. along those lines
