TY Misc. Stuff

While I am so grateful for this project, I still just cannot get over the lack of information coming from Ty and the MSC, not only to the people doing the work, but also to the stores. It seems like TY really just let pieces fall and now suddenly they need us to clean up their mess.

So first, what is going on with CVS and TY? The jobs get posted and then pulled within a day or so. I have had this happen so many times now. I picked up 6 locations near my home only to have 3 pulled from me. The other 3 I was sent there "urgently" because the stores did not have the easter displays out and I had to go hunt them down. The stores basically complain about the old TY rep to me and then they ask a ton of questions that I do not have the answer to.

Yesterday I saw a ton of New/Old shops. Back when the project first started, these were all the stores with no displays so they were eventually dropped. Now I see all of these stores for $25. Did they get displays? Are they getting displays? Am I supposed to be pushing a display? Did 7-11 mandate they get a display? Yes, I did email the MSC but it is the weekend so... there is that.

The quattro removals at walgreens. News to me the first time it showed up in my app! None of these managers know anything about it. Their displays are full and they just look at me like what am I supposed to do with all of the stuff. They tell me they don't have anywhere to put it and they don't want to box it up. So I put down that they refuse the removal and advise the manager they should contact corporate about what the next steps are because I am going to be asked to keep asking you. Then I have stores with broken displays but those are not being removed. Why why why?

With all that said, I still enjoy doing the project! My vent for the day!

I hear you! I am seeing the same thing in my area. It's also hard to work with the project manager of this project (not sure if she's yours or not). She is not very responsive. I have asked three times for something I have to have to get paid, and it's still not done. So, I will see how it turns out.

There's also jobs in my app that's not showing on my board.

I've asked three times for a new display in one store because the display they have now is about to fall over. I have yet to get a display. But, one store that didn't need a display got one. It would also be nice to be told when you will be building displays. It's tough when you show up, and they say they have received a display for you to put together when you didn't know beforehand.

It could be so much fun, but it's so frustrating.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
I agree with you both! I absolutely love doing these projects and am very grateful for what they are doing to my bottom line! However, it can be incredibly frustrating on all fronts.

Stores that are near my pre-determined routes are consistently going to bonuses. Stores I have never seen are flooding the boards. When I go behind someone else, I am flabbergasted that some reps even got paid to do the jobs!

Hopefully TY will learn to communicate with the clients better. And to us reps so we can provide some clarity for these store managers.
Congratulations.... you have got yourself a job without the pay and benefits to match it.
Exactly what I was thinking, Bob. That person is significantly over invested. I’m positive that, whatever they are being paid, it is not nearly enough. They need to take it down several notches.

I absolutely hate going behind someone else . It’s happened to me this month and when I went in history to see the shops before me I’m appalled they let that slide. There is NO way they paying people for that.!

I actually got ahold of the lead for the project on this and she was as clueless as everyone else Re:Walgreens. Apparently this came down from TY and Walgreens corporate. They never asked the store or the folks at the MSC.
I've enjoyed doing the TYs pretty much. My strategy of avoiding 7/11 stores has served me well. Too much foot traffic in those stores for me to feel very comfortable having to work anything out, the people who work there never dust...anything, and I always worry (probably for nothing) about the language barrier. Driving home from San Antonio last night, I stopped at this new truck stop (I should have known better); they had 3 TY displays--2 rounds and a square with the cubbies and the peg hooks. But they also had this large non-branded wire cage that was full of off branded stuffed animals, TY dolls, etc... all mashed together. I made a notation on my calendar to NOT take that location under any circumstances. I haven't seen the jobs disappearing and reappearing. I did notice some odd e-mails from the project team at the MSC discussing a route of like six stops I could possibly do and make $120 while doing so. Whoopee!!! lol

Already have a job with benefits. The pay is actually pretty good. I got in early on that project and got the higher pay before it became popular. MSC was still desperate to fill the slots so I got paid well and still am.
I echo much of what has been said on here. I enjoy the project. I like the fact we have a time frame that is pretty generous. I also got in at the start of the project and feel I am being paid fairly with the amount of work I do. Most managers/staff know me and I can get in and check Backstock, etc. fairly quickly. I don’t like the hiccups that occasionally show up. I have several locations that have been waiting for displays. I had the Walgreens problem last round. We’ll see what happens when I visit that location tomorrow. The manager wouldn’t let me make any changes because she didn’t know about the directive. But, all in all, I’m satisfied.

I do just a few near my home in smaller stores. I too am baffled by the new stops added at a high rate. I am not sure if this involves revisiting stores that declined, trying to push more locations to add or just cleaning up the data sets on store locations. I say that because the store locations posted were unexpected. The quattro was not universal in a mix of small stores. Not sure if it was locations dependent on tracked sales, DM decision or what I had a mixed set of standard stops and pulls in my retails partner combos.

My response from the MSC about the new stops at a high rate was... they don't know and they need them revisited again. Wouldn't TY know if they sent the store a display?????? OMG. I feel like I should offer my services to TY and help them get organized! By the time the MSC got back to me, most of the new ones were already assigned. I did manage to get a few but not as many as I wanted. I have a few other eager beavers around me!

The way I see it...just apply and go check it out. If they have display, built it and take the double bonus, if not, you get yourself a easy shop with decent pay. There's no losing on this tbh, and why go over your head over this?

Me and my family actually enjoy 7-11 and gas station so much we mainly focus on these stores instead of drug stores like CVS/ Walgreens etc. almost all of them have no back stocks and only very few would have tons of merchandises to work on. You pretty much just go re-organized it for a bit, do the count and call it a day.

I backed off this project a bit, but when I was involved and reading what people encounter here, I have to say, this is one project that even amongst the same chain, the stores vary so much with what inventory they have, what condition it is in, how many displays, etc. I don't have many 711's by me, but they own Speedway and one store has a small shelf, another store has a full display, another store has a full display but right next to the register, so its hard to maneuver if they are busy etc. I have found the gas stations to be a bit dirtier, but less work. Grocery stores were more time consuming but slightly cleaner and easier to work in the allocated space.
