I did not get an option for a paper receipt at the pump when I used the app, but I guess I could enter my phone number at the pump.@purpleicee wrote:
I have used my rewards telephone number for all CF shops, both at the pump and inside the store. And I have used the emailed receipt using the portion showing the receipt part. No issues for 2 years. But, I still take a photograph of the paper receipt that prints for a backup. Never needed it.

If you used the App to pay solely that way, then you might not get the printed receipt. Check your settings on the App. There is a button to select for printed receipts to come as well. Every once in a while there is a pump that does not prompt for your telephone number or, if you had one, the physical rewards card. When that happens, I cancel the transaction and start over using solely the App. I love that the App collects points at both of CF types of fuel stations, since they are owned by the same company. Sometimes the station has a different type of C-Store ownership, such as Circle K or something. And they usually have their own rewards program for inside purchases. They will not take the other one for the branded fuel station on the inside. I ask just in case, though.
