BP/Amoco and Winter

Just an observation of the current BP/Amoco shops.

Around here, where I live, winter can be a cruel time of year. Often, it begins in late October and ends sometime in late March or early April.
For the BP/Amoco shops specifically and to an extent the E/M shops, the damage to the fuel dispensers, islands, bollards and shop curbing can be pervasive.
So what happens?
With the BP/Amoco shops, a unique photo is requested of any found damage or violation. It means, the shopper cannot use the same photo for each question in the report.
So, what that means is this: Let's say the site has 16 fuel dispensers, 2 of which are diesel only, all of them under the branded canopy. The shopper finds that due to the continuing cold, the site employees neglect to clean the pump islands and/or the pumps of diesel, adhesive, etc.
BP/Amoco have numerous questions for each pump, asking for the unique photo. For a 16 pump site, the shopper may have to upload 4 violation photos plus the original photo of the pump itself.
And so, the shopper has approximately 80 photos to upload of just the fuel dispensers.

It is indeed enough to ask themselves, just what am I getting paid.

Again, I take at least 2 of EVERY picture. at BP that ends up being 2 of the full pump top to bottom, and 2 close up, if there is something in the canister for the credit applications I grab one and take 2 pics of that at that pump. This happens at every pump, every time. I always have at least 4 unique canopy pics, the same goes for the amenities bins.

Since I started taking extra pictures, I haven't had to go back to a location and take extra pictures because I missed something that an editor saw. And I have a lot fewer returns from the editors when I do the complete shop at the location before I move on to the next.

I do the same - take 2 of each pump and 2 closeups - all due to the unique photo rule.

My point was more about the list of questions for each pump. IMO, the msc could have just shortened the need for so many photos.
As my example states, the shopper might have to upload the complete photo of the pump and then 4 more of the pump for violations. As I stated, for a 16 dispenser site, that could total 80 pump photos!

Instead, the msc could have combined some of those questions into one photo needed.
Example: dirty fascia, skirt, adhesive and islands could be one photo needed with checkoffs for each of those violations.

Their statement about making the shop easier for the shopper is false, IMO.

And this:

You finish your inspection, have taken your photos, noticing some pumps missing credit cards or their holders, maybe a pump missing its pop or just something that is a violation.

As you reenter the shop to give the employee the Leave Behind sheet (mind you, you've checked off that yes, all pumps are working, yes, the receipt was received at the pimp, and yes, the restroom was clean and stocked), the employee asks, "how did we do?"

How do you answer that? I just give the reply, "here is the Leave Behind sheet", while not mentioning anything about the violations I've found.

You know you're not supposed to, so you don't.

They scan it quickly, smile and brightly thank me.

Meanwhile, I leave, feeling like a "conne".
Sounds like they could make it easier. But at some point you have to wonder if that would be a good thing. If it gets too easy, then anybody could it, and they likely will.
