Class Action Lawsuit - Boars Head

Of course your contract with the MSC may prohibit you from participating (I have not dug into it yet...anyway, maybe not because this is between you and Boars head, not the MSC or the grocery store? not sure)

I looked and the Class Action case only applies to specific recalled items. Most of the recalled products are ham, liverwurst, bologna, and some hotdogs. I bought chicken, so I have no claim.

Edited to change turkey to chicken.

I don't buy any of those things.. beef bologna once in a blue moon, but none of the others, at least not Boar's Head brand. What I do miss, that no one seems to carry anymore is Boars Head Beef Salami. I even had a deli person at Kroger the other day tell me that Hard salami is beef salami.
IIRC, the MSC told us exactly what to buy in order for the shop to be approved, according to the guidelines and now I would need to go back and check because I forgot what I bought when I did those shops.

It was basically ham or chicken varieties. Nothing that would be involved in the recall.

I’m pretty sure ham was one of them.
Smoked ham and "chicken that isn't spicy."

Edit: I see that BourbonRidge ham, SmokeMaster ham and Tavern ham are all on the list. I definitely bought the latter two.

Every time I join a class action I end up getting $6 or something like that. The lawyers are the winners. I've stopped even trying.
Well, I bought a lot of ham in May and June of 2024 so I went ahead and found the old receipts and submitted them with the claim form. I found 9 receipts. We'll see what happens. Not expecting a windfall, but something is better than nothing and I had no shops today..so that was my shop for the day..lol

I love getting random checks years down the road...bahaaa

Yeah you're not hitting the lottery on these, but I figure if I'm not doing anything else and the claim process isn't especially time-consuming, well, as Geddy Lee said, "Ten bucks is ten bucks."

I'm guessing very few people will get that reference, but it made my day a little bit better.

A few years back I posted about this, but there was a class action suit for the Hustler Store. You needed a receipt for a credit card purchase to be considered and I made a bit of killing doing to bonused shops in my area back when they used to put big end-of-month bonuses out there, and they allowed credit cards to be used for the shop, which always made getting a receipt easier.

I am also guessing that not many people had receipts handy from that adult store just laying around, but I had 7 of them neatly stored away in my MS folder for the time frame required. When it was all settled, I was a apparently considerable component of the lawsuit and got a few hundred dollars out of it, on top of the big bonuses for the shops!
Big WHoop a total of $3.1M which includes money for attorney fees, etc. If you get 28 cents and a case of the burps remembering the bad meat you you will be lucky. I was in a class action suit. It involved data breach. The lawyers got $89,000 each- there was one on each side- the 3 harmed people I was one of them were awarded $1000 each. AND I got a tax form so it was 100% taxable. Whoopie! The lawyers make out and the harmed people get NOTHING Just do not bother. Not worth your time and effort!
Lets see, the last class action I was in was the thing with the credit reporting companies. I ended up with a ZERO credit rating.. not just no credit. ZERO. They removed ALL of my credit history. And they sent me a check for $5 or $6.. I don't remember the exact amount, it wasn't worth remembering. I didn't and hadn't used credit for many years so I didn't think anything of it until I needed to buy this car I have now. Getting it was NOT easy, and I'm paying through the nose for it.
I have received a few over the years: about $90 for Roundup, about $60 for epiPen, can't remember if I ever got the Phillips CPAP money, but there is money out there. Every dollar counts! Just found a penny in the street today. smiling smileysmiling smileysmiling smiley I will have to search for my Boars Head receipts.
Yeah, the vast majority of class action claims only net in the low dollar range, but on the other hand, unlike a shop report - it often takes only a few seconds to fill out the claim form. You decide, lol.
I don't do them any more - but when I did, a couple times, I got checks for a couple hundred bucks, for what felt like doing absolutely nothing.
My biggest little windfall was when I did a bank bonus with Citibank, Citibank jerked everybody around on it, it got followed up in court and we all got twice the original bonus. I went to the mailbox and there was a check for $1200.
The forms for unclaimed funds in the states you've lived in aren't tedious to fill out. I got over $5,500 back from the state I lived in the longest.
"Windfall money" is money I just spend on something I want, so there's that too lol.

With Boars Head, the way it all was handled, I think I will fill out fhe form just on principal. Unless new info comes to light that changes my mind, I think there's more to that story.

I received over $400 this week from the large media company. I couldn't believe it.! It pays to fill those forms out.
The lawyers do the work.
