Jersey Mike's

Just putting this here, as I don't think it warrants its' own thread, figure if you do these shops you'd read this thread. I'm late to the game, but from now until April 17 in the JM app you can play the hockey predictor sweepstakes and earn points for every correct prediction (up to 4). You log in every day, pick your 4 teams to win that day's game and the next day find out how you did. There were other prizes to be won earlier in the hockey season, but I just became aware of this contest. Log in to the app, go to "My MIke's" and click on "play now". Figure between doing the shops and playing the game you can earn yourself any kind of sub you want smiling smiley

I know absolutely nothing about hockey but I made some wild guesses when this first started and forgot about it, I see I have earned 6 points so far. Thanks for the reminder! And I just got 72 points for my birthday. (The previous 2 years were 80 points each. No idea how they calculate the points.)
Does this MSC ever bonus Jersey Mike's (or other shops)? I just signed up and it seems like most of their offerings are reimbursement-only restaurants.
It is rare and if they do, its usually $5.

I did two in January that paid $15 each + x and one in Feb. at $10 + x, so they do get bonused around here, but maybe because there are so many since I'm in "Jersey."

I got an email saying the ordering requirements changed. I looked at my guidelines for my shop scheduled next week and it still says any fresh sliced sub, no grilled subs. Am I missing something? The guidelines I have are dated November 2024.
@dafizisblue I did a shop today and the guidelines have been updated to April 2025 and list the specific subs you can order. No portobello anymore -- that might be the only change from the guidelines last month (which also listed specific subs).
My shop is today and luckily I checked the guidelines. I had several back and forths with the team regarding ordering the portobello and they said it is fine. But today it is no longer listed on the guidelines. I did not get an email about this. I also just checked the menu and almost every sub will cost above the reimbursement with many of them costing several dollars above. This may be the only job I do for them as I do not want to go out of pocket but at least I will be able to get my bday points next year as you now need to have been there at least once during the year proceeding your bday.

There is now a list of approved subs. When you get assigned the job it will include new reqs. There are now 10 cold subs on the list.

SUBMARINES
Ham & Provolone

Roast Beef & Provolone

Turkey & Provolone Using antibiotic-free turkey.

ITALIAN FAVORITES
Jersey Shore's Favorite Provolone, ham & cappacuolo

The Super Sub Provolone, ham, prosciuffini & cappacuolo

The Original Italian Provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami & pepperoni

Tuna Fish

The Veggie Swiss, provolone & green bell peppers

CLUB SUBS
Club Sub Antibiotic free turkey, ham, provolone, applewood smoked bacon & mayo

Club Supreme Roast beef, antibiotic-free turkey, swiss, applewood smoked bacon & mayo
Weren't cold subs always mandated? And Jersey Mike's doesn't exactly have a wide-ranging menu so I think this is the standard menu for cold subs we had in previous rounds.

At any rate they are still showing them in my area for reimbursement only so they can sit on a tack.
Keep logging in every day for the Stanley Cup points. I just guess at them and get at least 2-4 points every day. I have over 330 points right now and am saving up for the end of the month when I don't have any shops smiling smiley A large sub can be had for 144 points.
Before the late March update, I think you couldn't visit between 3-4 PM. But now, you can visit anytime between 11 AM to 9 PM.

Edited to add: Actually, it looks like the time visit may have been updated back in Feb.

In my area, there is no variation between which cold subs are allowed on the shop and which cold subs are available on the JM menu. None. It may be different where you are.

Have you done one since yesterday?
Client Specifications: Updated 4/9/2025
Minimum Ordering Requirements:
(LUNCH OR DINNER- SEE HOURS REQUIRED ABOVE):
1 fresh sliced sub from the selections below only

There is an image of the 10 subs you may choose which I also listed above. I had a shop yesterday and it was noted in the email confirmation as well.

No but I just checked the guidelines, since you can do that with this MSC before accepting the shop. The 10 allowed subs are the only cold subs listed on menus in my area. Again, there may be more in other regions. But not here.

Gotcha. There are several subs that were previously under the "cold subs" heading for me that are now excluded. For example: turkey club, and salami and cheese.

I typically always got the Italian so I'm good but this may impact others so I wanted to bring it up.
There's a location less than 2 miles from my house and another location less than 3 miles away. I still haven't done one. The worst thing about these shops for me is that there are so many locations, they make it annoying to find other shops on the job board.
What is the best way to get pictures for these shops? I think they were on to me today since I did this location before. To get the slicer, I have to lift my phone up near my face which is a little obvious. The front line was also really difficult. The employees never left and I was the only one in the store so they didn't have their backs turned. One was always looking at me. I got an ok picture but I feel like I might get flagged as a shopper.
I did my first and only JM last week. I As far as the photos went, my front line photo was only a partial front line and the back line was visible thru the shadows of the sun streaming thru the front window and the many lights hitting the plexiglass dividers and all the signs and posters on the glass and plexiglass. You had to peer thru a mess of layers to figure out the back line was there somewhere. It was accepted. There was one case in the corner which was not see thru on my side. It must have been the meat case as there was no meat anywhere I could see.
My phone has a .5 zoom mode that I use for the pictures for these shops. I just hold my phone at my waist and take a couple shots pretending that I am not even looking at my phone. Super easy and the photos have not been a problem for any of my shops.

If i held the phone at my waist it would capture the area below the counter on my side. I'm only 5'1" tall.

Anybody shopped these? Is it hard to get required pictures?

I imagine the floorplan is different for every restaurant but the 2 by my apartment...I don’t see how I’m supposed to get that picture of the meat slicer without someone asking me if I have a cold cut fetish. I do...but that is beside the point. Anyway, Got to pass. on them because of that.
