For those deal seekers and people who will do RC shops for $0 or $3 pay....Wingstop has a deal on Tuesday's now. At least they did on 3/18. It was 2 tenders for $2. I hope they do this going forward (at least 1 more week) so I can do it on tuesday 3/25. I like the different flavors from Wingstop (especially the atomic and cajun flavors). I do not know if there is a limit, but I was thinking 10 tenders could feed the 3 of us and I could buy 1 large fry and be out $15 max for 3 people to eat. Beats doing RC/JM or any other NO fee shop.
it was a revealed non-shop shop!!!

agree about low pay but relatively easy to do. I am sending them dozens pictures for each phop.

I'm blessed to be in a region where, for some reason, the shopper cohort doesn't seem to know about this MSC. I'm picking off $20 bonuses like I'm picking them off a tree.

Reminds me of the good old days when I could demand $20-25 for PopShelf before some others found out about THAT particular MSC and started grabbing them at base.
I will be doing my first shop for JM. I love their subs but this year did not get my bday free points because I have not been there for the past year! So this job, is the first time I actually saw it listed before someone else grabbed it, and no fee or bonus anywhere near me ever. In any case I am not sure about the slicer photo even after reading the replies to others questions. So are the unacceptable example photos meaning the photo is unacceptable and my job will be denied because I have to get a photo of a clean slicer, or does it mean the slicer itself is unacceptable to the company as it is dirty but the photo is acceptable? There is no explanation in the guidelines about this or any of the photos that I can find. . I also wondered if the unacceptable photos were because there was a part of an employee or a sticker in the photo. In addition, if there are two slicers how do i know which one is the correct one for the photo....Thank you for your insight those who have done these several times.

No, you don't have to. They're supposed to wipe down the slicer pretty regularly, like after every sandwich or two. I don't think one or two specks of meat from your sandwich necessarily fails the slicer. Generally you can tell if they've been letting crap build up. Just use common sense.

I'll admit the sample photos aren't great illustrations.

It means the conditions on the slicer are unacceptable. It is an acceptable photo of an unacceptable slicer. Shoot the slicer that's up front, it's generally to the right of the meat/cheese case and to the left of the prep area.

Yes, you can show employees. On many jobs it's pretty impossible not to capture them, especially during busy times when the whole crew is staffing those little spaces behind the counter.

Cling stickers are often a problem in getting a really good photo, especially of the slicer. JM's seems to love to put cling signage right where the slicer is. Just get the best shot you can and explain about the cling blockage in the "are there any more details you'd like to share?" box at the end of the survey. I've found the MSC's editors are pretty chill about this issue.
Aaaaaaand of course, on this round the first bonus level is $3. Last few rounds it was $5. The industry-wide fee slashing continues.
I looked at the guidelines for my (1st for me) upcoming JM shop. The "hot" Portobello Mushroom sub is on the acceptable list. Has anyone ordered that sub and been approved? I was told it is ok but I am still worried the editor will not agree.
Well I am quite sure that the editors will have the new guidelines available when your shop is complete. I wouldn't worry about it. If that is what you want to order and it's acceptable, then do it. I used to be an editor for this MSC and I never was challenged on how I scored the reports, but if I had been wrong about something, I would have changed the scoring to reflect this and the shopper would not have been dinged.

For those of you who are wondering about the MSC's scoring, it is internal and only visible for their staff to view. Shoppers are not apprised of this information. A sure way for a fairly new shopper to know how they are doing is that new shops that pay better are available for them to view and assign after a certain amount of easy shops are completed (and the shopper receives good scores on those shops).

I had to edit my post to remove the name of the MSC, oops!

Well, I think it is ridiculous that companies would choose to hide results on how a shopper has done on their work. There is no good reason to do it unless the evaluation was not truthful with their scoring.
Hey, I was quite fair and truthful as an editor and I believe that most of their editors are the same way. I've been shopping with them since 2003 and I have never had any reason to believe otherwise.

I was an editor for them around 2006 as a winter gig back when my kids were young. It started as a winter gig and I quit when spring rolled around. The pay was horrible. For someone who is housebound for whatever reason (it gets really cold where I live) it's okay I suppose, but I made 20x more money as a mystery shopper with all MSCs combined than I did as an editor for them. I have no idea why their management chooses to keep scores from their shoppers, but you will know if you got to be "gold" if you get to see the juicy dining shops and other premium shops. You will especially know if you didn't do well because the editor will have had to call you or email you for information at least once and the feedback will reflect your performance.

I like Jersey Mikes. I have never done a shop there but yesterday I went for a sandwich. The service was the WORST!

They recently went private equity, but I did not expect them to start the slide to sheer crappiness so quickly.

They were our favorite fast-food outlet close to the GF's, in a burgeoning suburb that is just starting to fill in with all the usual suspects.

Placed an order in the app for pickup, and arrived a couple of minutes in advance of the pickup time in the app.

Stood around for 15 minutes watching an utter clown show trying to make all kinds of sandwiches except anything that looked like my order. There were 3 of them working on a single sandwich for a stretch, with 2 of them hovering around the main clown who would shoo them away when they would reach in and attempt to do something.

To top things off, I wound up with the dry heaves later that night.

Buh-bye, Jersey Mike's!

They've just started commercials with Danny DeVito.

Perhaps the ads and mystery shops are their way to turn around the business?

If you don't know its broke you cant fix it. Mystery Shopping lets you know if something is broken. IMHO.

I haven't shopped with the MSC for long. In terms of editing, I haven't had any issues. I remember reading in another thread about certain shops not being visible. It's good to know. I've still been able to see the high reimbursement shops.
Apoarently you're doing things correctly.

Was just going to say that. The DeVito ads have been running like forever.
" you will know if you got to be "gold" if you get to see the juicy dining shops and other premium shops"
Are they labeled as 'gold' or 'premium'? I see some shops ( I forget the MSC) with $200.00 reimbursement for dining. Is this premium or does anyone have a chance to be assigned? I have no idea at any of the MSC if I am being offered select assignments.
I completed a JM shop tonight for $40 and it gave me some insights about my preferences. I find that I enjoy shops without narratives, as it feels more streamlined. Spending 50 minutes in a parking lot filling out a report isn’t quite what I envision when I think of a fast food experience. It was also my first experience using the MSC’s website, and I found the layout a bit challenging on my phone, particularly when trying to navigate between pages.

As for the sandwich, it was a bit messy and covered in oil when I opened the package, and it wasn’t cut all the way through, which made it tricky to separate without getting oil on my hands. However, I must say that the service was excellent!
The MSC that has Jersey Mike's has an internal scoring system. No, the shops are not labeled. If you see well-paying shops you know your score is high.

I've been with the company for 8 years and feel like my shops are pretty good, but I've never seen anything "high end" except for an occasional Ruth's Chris. Is that what you mean by high end? As a shopper, it would be nice to know where you stack on their scoring.

Yeah I'd say Ruth Chris is pretty high end! If you arent seeing high paying shops right now it's probably just that they don't have anything in your area right now.
