@Fatlady - It kind of was a shop, you got a free sandwich.
I'm blessed to be in a region where, for some reason, the shopper cohort doesn't seem to know about this MSC. I'm picking off $20 bonuses like I'm picking them off a tree.@gene wrote:
agree about low pay but relatively easy to do. I am sending them dozens pictures for each phop.

No, you don't have to. They're supposed to wipe down the slicer pretty regularly, like after every sandwich or two. I don't think one or two specks of meat from your sandwich necessarily fails the slicer. Generally you can tell if they've been letting crap build up. Just use common sense.@non sequitur wrote:
So you have to take the picture of the slicer before they make your sandwich? That seems wrong (easier to do after they finish slicing and start assembling), but I guess that is the difference.
I'll admit the sample photos aren't great illustrations.
It means the conditions on the slicer are unacceptable. It is an acceptable photo of an unacceptable slicer. Shoot the slicer that's up front, it's generally to the right of the meat/cheese case and to the left of the prep area.@sandyf wrote:
I will be doing my first shop for JM. I love their subs but this year did not get my bday free points because I have not been there for the past year! So this job, is the first time I actually saw it listed before someone else grabbed it, and no fee or bonus anywhere near me ever. In any case I am not sure about the slicer photo even after reading the replies to others questions. So are the unacceptable example photos meaning the photo is unacceptable and my job will be denied because I have to get a photo of a clean slicer, or does it mean the slicer itself is unacceptable to the company as it is dirty but the photo is acceptable? There is no explanation in the guidelines about this or any of the photos that I can find. . I also wondered if the unacceptable photos were because there was a part of an employee or a sticker in the photo. In addition, if there are two slicers how do i know which one is the correct one for the photo....Thank you for your insight those who have done these several times.@KokoBWare wrote:

I looked at the guidelines for my (1st for me) upcoming JM shop. The "hot" Portobello Mushroom sub is on the acceptable list. Has anyone ordered that sub and been approved? I was told it is ok but I am still worried the editor will not agree.

Well, I think it is ridiculous that companies would choose to hide results on how a shopper has done on their work. There is no good reason to do it unless the evaluation was not truthful with their scoring.

I like Jersey Mikes. I have never done a shop there but yesterday I went for a sandwich. The service was the WORST!
I haven't shopped with the MSC for long. In terms of editing, I haven't had any issues. I remember reading in another thread about certain shops not being visible. It's good to know. I've still been able to see the high reimbursement shops.@Jusa wrote:
Hey, I was quite fair and truthful as an editor and I believe that most of their editors are the same way. I've been shopping with them since 2003 and I have never had any reason to believe otherwise.
I was an editor for them around 2006 as a winter gig back when my kids were young. It started as a winter gig and I quit when spring rolled around. The pay was horrible. For someone who is housebound for whatever reason (it gets really cold where I live) it's okay I suppose, but I made 20x more money as a mystery shopper with all MSCs combined than I did as an editor for them. I have no idea why their management chooses to keep scores from their shoppers, but you will know if you got to be "gold" if you get to see the juicy dining shops and other premium shops. You will especially know if you didn't do well because the editor will have had to call you or email you for information at least once and the feedback will reflect your performance.

That ad campaign has been running for well over a year...

Are they labeled as 'gold' or 'premium'? I see some shops ( I forget the MSC) with $200.00 reimbursement for dining. Is this premium or does anyone have a chance to be assigned? I have no idea at any of the MSC if I am being offered select assignments.

The MSC that has Jersey Mike's has an internal scoring system. No, the shops are not labeled. If you see well-paying shops you know your score is high.

I've been with the company for 8 years and feel like my shops are pretty good, but I've never seen anything "high end" except for an occasional Ruth's Chris. Is that what you mean by high end? As a shopper, it would be nice to know where you stack on their scoring.
