Churchill Downs Shop

I must be a glutton for pain and torture. I picked up a highly bonused Churchill Downs Casino shop and let me forewarn everyone---just don't... The shop is bad enough, but the report is brutal as well as the questions that follow. Has anyone else picked one up?

I'm assuming this is the same as a Rosie's shop?

I am unsure what that is. What is a Rosie's Shop?

Another slot box chain owned by Churchill Downs.
Are they dreadful as well?

I'm Wrosie, and I tried to do a three shift shops where the MSC was just starting to shop this Indian casino. First ever time there for them. They tried to adapt another casino report to this casino and it failed miserably.

They kept changing the report as I told them what they were asking was impossible since the area to be evaluated closed at 11 PM so wasn't opened during the time frame I was supposed to shop them.

Stay at the table game at $25 a hand until the cocktail waitress comes by and evaluate her. Problem was they only reimbursed $50 at the table or whatever and it took 20 minutes to have a waitress come by. Yaddah, Yaddah, Yaddah (don't know if I spelled that right). Did all three timeslots and they denied all three and wouldn't even pay for my hotel that was promised when I accepted all three shops.

It's hard to complete a shop when the report keeps getting updated and changed as you're onsite doing the shop. So the guidelines also changed as I pointed out their problems.

I would love to do their casino shops as I like to go to casinos. But after that experience, unless it's in Vegas, NEVER again! That's where the MSC is based.

I could try to find the other posts about this fiasco if you can't search for them on your own. I was out over $700 since they rejected all three shops and the hotel. Meals I had that I thought would be reimbursed, valet, tables, slots, bar, etc.

They picked apart my shops until I had no answers and then rejected them all. All three of them. I still have the e-mails if you really want proof.

All because they tried to adapt another casino shop to this casino instead of starting from scratch.

Fwiw I don't think Churchill/Rosie's uses that msc anymore. They did briefly but the report wasn't too bad. Weird thing was there was another msc that still does Rosie's. I did not find the report too awful. Tedious at times, but not awful.
I’m seeing some similarities from my experience. I’m sorry that happened to you. I’ll leave these for Kayla to do since she’s the #1 shopper. I’m not out nearly as much as you. I hope mine is accepted. The questions they are asking me for clarification were not in the shopper guidelines. I did provide answers.

gigishopper,

So they didn't accept your shop either? That stinks. If it's not in the guidelines and they want additional information that's what happened to me. It's just wrong.

I wouldn't have eaten where they wanted me to eat, I wouldn't have valeted, I wouldn't have played the tables as long as I needed to play to meet their requirements, etc., etc. I go to casinos with an "entertainment expense" in mind not to gamble.

Sorry if this was a double post, but I didn't see it actually posted.

I haven't seen the MSC offering other shops at the Indian casinos in Western NY any longer. But I have seen them offering one that is not an Indian casino in not so Western NY and another "Churchill Downs" casino at a racetrack in Southern NY. With the racetrack closed, I'm guessing it's just the casino open now. It's a Las Vegas based MSC. I sure hope this isn't how they treat the Nevada shoppers with stricker regulation.

gigishopper,

I'd love to have her pull out a phone to record ANYTHING in a casino.

weatherman2111,

Any hint who has picked up these shops as I think they can be good shops, especially if I'm traveling. Or do you want to keep them for yourself? Is there a rotation.

They're all in Virginia. That's all the scent I can give you.
So you're going to work for it. I like a challenge. W VA or VA?

It’s pending validation.. just makes me nervous when they come back with so many questions after I gave such a detailed report.

VA VA. I cant give you more entry. Sorry
In the same general region of Churchill Downs Race Track (too north to be southern and too southern to be considered north); not quite Appalachia...unless you are running for office.

wrosie --

The current MSC is named after a type of soldier who keeps guard. I am signed up with them but have never done a shop for them. Too many horror stories.

The Rosie's closest to me is in southern Va. but don't worry Weatherman, it's all yours.

I will venture far for work at times, but the southern tip of VA is a bit much
I've done the not so WNY one three times. (+1 casual dining, same location.) The question regarding taking my photo if a jackpot is won makes me laugh. So far I've lost. A lot.
Found the new MSC and they have the not so Western NY location listed for this month still. Not nearly enough reimbursement or job fee for a 180 mile ride roundtrip.
