Have you seen the mystery shopper that is all over social media posting her actual shops?

Service and I do not discuss Kayla. She’s almost as much of a flashpoint as our differing political views.

Actually, we do quite well discussing those things.
I try to stay out of things like this, but I doubt the validity of some of her posts. For instance, she has a video up of her doing some alcohol and tobacco compliance shops at a well known drug store last year. Well, I schedule that project, and she does not fall within the age range for them. At least not according to her Facebook page which has an event celebrating her 38th birthday. The cut off for age on them is 31 years old.

I'd like to think she didn't actually do them (you don't see her in the store doing them in the video), rather than think she fraudulently lied about her age in her profile and sent me a fake ID in order to be assigned.

Seriously, with all the holes in her operation, don't you think it's bound to blow up or lose steam in the near future? I know, the people have already lost their money in that process, unless they file a dispute.
Are there any shoppers in South Carolina who can confirm the validity of some of her shops? The Burlington was current. She took us step by step through the current month's departments (which seems like would be an IC violation). The Wendys shop that she just posted was not the timeframe or the shop that has been shopped in the states I shop for. I did a zip code search of every company that I am registered with and did not find a McDonald's, Bojangles or Checkers within a 150 mile radius of Greenville, SC. The company who shopped Checkers/Ralley's has not had a shop in my area in almost 2 years. I have never seen her video herself shopping most of the places that come up when I do look for shops near Greenville or Columbia SC. There are a TON on most of the boards. Kayla, if you are reading, why are you not out shopping and making some big money? I may head to SC myself and pick some of these up!

lol let the hate out yall's heart. how is what she's doing bothering or affecting you
I didn't watch any of her videos the last time there was a post about her, but I just pulled up one of her videos and meh, let her do her thing. There's way worse out there in the innerwebs, imo.
There is no hate in my heart. I don't see how anyone with a heart could be a cheerleader for someone who is clearly a grifter.

Justifying her grifting by saying there is worse is a terrible approach to honesty and integrity. If you love her so much, why not support her cause at a price of $97/month?

There is definitely a bunch of haters here. They have latched on to this one woman, yet conveniently ignore the dozens of others who do the same thing. Why she is singled out, I don't know, other than the fact she is a woman and women like to put women who have something going on down.

If someone does not want to do the leg work to sign up with every msc just to see if they have a shop in their area, that is their business.

I appreciate those of you who have messaged me your support. I ask you have the courage to stand up to the bullies and hypocrites here publically so they know all thier crazy rambling is just that: Crazy.
ServiceAward, no one is hating on her and I have not seen anyone else to the extent of her dishonesty. Please, show us all who else we need to "hate on." There is a social media influencer in my area who also sells a similar product and appears to be reputable. Her content aligns with everything that I know to be true about mystery shopping (and I have been shopping for 20 years) in my area of the country. She does not exploit fast food workers or any client for that matter and she does not create false and misleading social media posts.

You asked us to stand up to the bullies and hypocrites here...so I am.

Why do I see this never-ending? It really is not worthy of bickering by any of us. We see and have commented.

I understand @ServiceAward point about thinking outside the box. This person instead of just shopping (if that is what they really do) has found a way to create content and has followers. Even if it is legitimate or not, she has gained attention and that was probably the goal. I thought it was interesting in that maybe some company actually wanted her to do stuff like this just to drive "interest" into shopping. Doesn't mean she is approaching it the correct way. But publicity is attention whether bad or good.

If I cared more, maybe I would spend more time on this, but I don't. I would just ask to see payments from shopping companies to know if it was true or not and how "current" it is. I will say it is sad for those that spend money for services that are not really helpful (or are free)

I watched one video, calm down. People here that are watching her videos are supporting her with clicks and views way more than I am.

You people call her a fraudster, grifter, accuse her of taking advantage of others, and now you call me a bully, simply because I share an opinion that is different from yours. That is literally the very definition of a bully. You people put yourself on a high horse and make yourself morally superior. You scream that she is violating her IC agreements, yet everybody here does just that. Many IC agreements contain a clause that states you are not even suppose to disclose that a client is even shopped, yet this forum is built around just that. It is certainly up to the MSCs to clamp down if they want, but the truth is they do reap some benefit of it. The same is true with Kayla.

How many times do new people come to this forum and want to know what shops are available in a certain area? Or, maybe they want to know if a certain business is shopped. Indeed, some will chime in with helpful answers. There are an equal number of people who respond with answers similar to, "I had to do the research without help, so you need to sign up and do the same." There is nothing wrong with that type of response, because if you want to protect your own business, there are times to do that. However, if that new shopper wants to go to pay Kayla for doing all the leg work, that is their business and right to do so. My gosh, in the other thread, a forum member called people 'fools' for taking the $5 USPS shop fee. You seemed to see my point in that thread. What if a new shopper come here and see comments like that? Right from the gate, someone on their high horse has labeled them a 'fool,' without knowing their situation. It is shameful. I have observed many posts like that many times over the 18 months or so I've been here. Not everybody is like that, thankfully, but I see some of the same people who do that, also complaining about Kayla and acting as if they actually give a rat's butt about her clients. If those people came here, they would be the first ones to tell them to do their research. My larger point is about the moral superiority that runs rampant on this forum. @Cassiespark, so emotional and involved in their feelings over little 'ole me, wants to provide me with their LinkedIn profile to prove how much money they make? That's psycho! If I didn't know better, I would take that as a flirt. winking smiley The little girls on the school ground always did like to pinch and hit me when I was going down the slide. But really, people shouldn't do that here. I already have a very lovely woman.

In all seriousness, we can agree to disagree. I've said what I needed to say on all of this and I am moving on. You are good with me, and I hope I'll be good with you. Take care.
I'm not singling her out, I just haven't seen any other MSing content on TikTok - which is saying something because I spend way too much time on that app.
Same here and especially after viewing her garbage, more should populate.

I considered creating a channel on TikTok or Youtube to talk about mystery shopping. I definitely wouldn't do things like she has. I'd try to keep myself and my location secret, definitely not sell a course, and show tips on how to do successful evaluations, how to sign up, what tools to use, etc. I'd explain what Sassie is as well as Presto and help folks touch their toes into the pool so to speak on how to get something going. I've taught a few friends who were down on their luck with income due to layoffs and I gladly taught them how to get something extra from this and their thanks and appreciation is all I need, not some course.

I first started looking for similar task-app income ideas when I discovered JoannaLynneOfficial on TikTok. After watching several of her videos, the algorithm pointed me to some random person who talked about using the Presto app/site to find free food at restaurants. After that, it skyrocketed from there and I've signed up for several services even though I mostly use Sassie/Presto and the occasional Gigspot and iSecretShop.

Now that I've got a steady income, I also do Amusement Advantage for some weekend family trips where even though I don't get paid in cash, we get reimbursed and sometimes get even more passes for a future visit. Maybe I'll still do that social media channel, but not for a course. Yeah, it'll be nice to get revenue from views, but I wouldn't be snarky.
I only know of her because of this forum. I do not do any other forms of "Social media" so this is my only one, mostly to keep up on MS stuff. So I don't really consider it "Social" as in requesting "Friends" or "Following" people.

For the record, I have no knowledge or relation to this other joanna tiktoker lol.
If the MSC actually cared about their IC Agreements, they would have gone after that group iShop where the shoppers are actually in their main Facebook group talking openly about their shops. The shop name and MSC are all in one post. Then they cry foul when called out. I think they (the MSC) see it as free publicity and throw the IC out unless you piss someone off.

The shops have been dwindling since 2020 because of the influx of gig workers. I have to travel farther and farther from home to find an amount that is beneficial to call a paycheck. I was making 3 to 4k a month prior to the pandemic. Then, BOOM, everyone is a gig worker.

Let them TikTok away.

If any of you really feel like she's a fraud, you can always contact the Federal Trade Commission. They may look into it for you.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.

Wait - they don't exist? Who did I give my EIN to then? winking smiley

I have to say I understand the animosity towards her, since she, in a way, makes a mockery of something we take seriously. Heaven forbid we mention a client or MSC in the same thread, and she's on TT recording "shops", then selling the information we are forbidden from giving away.

That said, it also creates a little more anonymity for me! There was a time when I was trying to scrub a news article from search engines after MSPA talked me into doing an interview 20 years ago...before everything was online, and then one day I became Google-able. The last thing I would want as an actual shopper is anyone being able to search my name and have it connected with MSing. Let her take all that fame!
