Safety vest

I’ve just started mystery shopping. There are several shops around me I’d like to pick up, but you have to wear a safety vest. Is this something we purchase on our own or does the company provide it?
Thanks for the help.

All postings I've read say you must buy your own and you will NOT be reimbursed. Save your receipt for tax time.
I've never done these assignments. That said, I'd put my money on you buying your own out of pocket (not reimbursed). Seems like you could get a cheap one at a dollar store or Harbor Freight. These assignments don't interest me, so more for everyone else!

A caution about Harbor Freight, their safety vests run quite small. A large will not fit someone who would normally wear that size.
From time to time the big eye will send out vests with their logo so you can advertise for them. I do not know if everybody gets them at once, or if it is after you complete a certain number of audits. Regardless, you'll want your own. You will want bigger than your normal for size, and maybe two sizes up if you are in a cold environment and will be wearing it over a winter coat. Amazon has some nice ones. I recommend something with pockets.

The MSC will not reimburse you. Instead, you will document it as an expense related to your business and you can take the deduction off your taxes.
Amazon has some nice, and mostly comfortable, traffic safety vests in a multitude of colors for $9.95 and up. I also found some traffic safety sweatshirts at a truck stop for $35, it's black with yellow and silver reflective stripes, and it's a hoody, and thick and warm. Works great for most of the winter, with a pair of gloves and insulated pants I stay pretty comfortable down to about 30 degrees F. I don't wear my yellow vest over it, because it is already ANSI approved. I also found a safety yellow long sleeved shirt that fits my son that someone at a farm store left in the parking lot. And we both have Carhart safety yellow and orange beanies, neither of us wear them because they are too small and slide off, or IF they stay on we end up with headaches from them.
The county gave me a free one when I volunteered to direct traffic after a hurricane.
A long time ago, I was sent a safety vest and a clicker to do some intersection observations. I don't remember which company.
It's a very cheap flimsy thing but it does the trick. I use it for cycling too.
If I weren't so cheap oops, I mean frugal, I'd buy a shirt one.
