Panda Express drive thru - new timings alert

If you're doing any Panda Express drive-thru shops, look at the shop form for some new timing questions that aren't mentioned in their "updated" guidelines.

I noticed today the form did not like that my enter/exit time was prior to my email confirmation time on my online order. I kept getting notification each question. I changed my time out to be after the email confirm time just to do the report and then changed it back at the very end.

You can enter earlier if you get a text message telling you that order is ready. but the form did not like that. It was never a problem for this new roun.d

I don't remember if this has been mentioned before but how come theses companies don't tell us that things has change (Either in the mass email or the guidelines) but when you go fill out the report, there is something on there that we need to do or not do?
There usually is something near the guidelines saying the last time they were updated. I'm "guilty" of not reading the guidelines each time too. But if I see a new "revision date" I will usually look to see if anything has changed.

I certainly do not want to have to take a test each month like I do with the stagecoach bank shops they have.
FYI - All the Panda types have the timing part of the form updated.

Regarding the online entry time issue when the text message comes earlier than the email pickup time, I have just entered the text time. At the final summary box I explain that the email provided XXXX as the pickup time, but the text message arrived at XXXX, stating it was ready and I went in at that time. I have never had this challenged or have been asked to use the email time, etc.
@purpleicee

i never been challenged either. I document it well. But this time filling out the report, because my time in/out was shorter than my email confirmation time, it kept giving me that warning message on each question. next time I will just not enter the "confirmation time." I will have it be the last thing I enter to avoid the warnings.

I was able to submit it, but I think it wants people to be aware that maybe their times are off. It's a nice feature to have to help someone who's a little sloppy. I just will have to work around it and enter that question as my last one.
Regarding guidelines: my shop forms had a note to see new guidelines dated 11/1/2024. The guidelines attached to the shop were the same ones I already had, dated 10/1/24.

This MSC has lousy attention to detail.

I think it is often a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. In other words, poor communication. You have someone typing out the guidelines, someone else doing the report. People are human and stuff slips through. I do think with at least some MSCs they advise you to read both the guidelines and the report before doing the shop. Most of us never do that.
I just read the guidelines and it says to STOP timing when you are greeted in the drive thru lane. Dos that mean that the actual time from when you have finished ordering and have the receipt and the bag time is no longer required? Not sure I understand this new guidelines- has anyone done one and can you please explain, Thanks
Easiest thing to do is to use the "lap" feature on a stopwatch for everything.

Start when you arrive.
then hit lap when it's your turn at the speaker
Then hit lap when you are greeted. Could be instantly or several seconds later.
Then hit lap when you are done ordering
Then hit lap when you arrive at the window
Then hit lap when you are greeted at the window
Then hit stop when you get the food.

It might be overkill, but at least you have everything covered on the timings if there were any questions. Some of the times might be the same (especially if there is no line or they are quick to greet you on speaker or at window).

Ugh. I just got a "7".

I ordered for ASAP and the pop up text said 4:40 PM. So, I waited outside until 4:40 PM. Apparently the email said 4:36 PM. I guess I will check that email more closely. They usually match.
I always include comments in the report regarding how confusing it is that the initial order confirmation screen states one pickup time and the email confirmation (which, as regular customer, I would not look for) states a different pickup time. Then, for a while, I sometimes received texts to my phone with a third pickup time.

Normally, I just use the email time and mention nothing, I just did not pay close attention this time. Lesson learned.
What is process for cancelling a shop. I signed up for one and with bad weather coming will not be doing it

You just let it fall off as overdue. Nobody answers emails, especially this early into the cycle.
I very very seldom go to the D/T.. i would rather go inside and order at the counter.

Now during COVID, i went to the D/T a-lot since the dining rooms were close..
You can reschedule it one time. IF that is doable for me, I reschedule. If not, let it drop off. It might result in a citation.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

Why go inside? you like the ambience of Panda that much? I think it's more questions (at least 1 more with the restroom, if not more than that). I want to spend as little time as possible at Panda. I do not even eat the food.

First choice is Drive Thru, then Online Order, then last would be Dine In.

@Fatlady - you need to remove the MSC name from your post. The client was named already. Unless you prefer the moderator to scold you?
In the past, I would select the DT first, as it is more convenient. However, I have a couple reasons that I now prefer to go inside. 1. I often order broccoli beef and I have found that you get more beef when you stand right in front of them, only making a comment when they are being skimpy with the beef ( "can I get some beef this time?"winking smiley. 2. I often order the super greens and they are 5x better when they are fresh. If they don't look fresh and I don't want to wait, I can select something else. Plus, I don't waste all that gasoline in the DT line and I make and extra 50 cents. (And exercise is good.)

Same here, but the reimbursement still covers basically all locations in my area apart from one at the mall. Thankfully it's only 20 cents and nothing that will break the bank!
