Paying with InKind - still okay?

I have a restaurant shop coming up, I noticed they accept InKind - has anyone used InKind and had any issues?

I haven't used it in a while but I seem to remember that you don't necessarily get a payment receipt with you use it. Obviously there would be an itemized receipt.

I seem to remember SandyF mentioning using it in the past. I have a couple of credits to use up and not that many places accept it so it would be nice to get to use them up.

Olympia I sent you a DM but bottom line I was able to use it but it has some glitches. Anyone else have one of these cards I will be glad to share my experience.

I have had no issues with paying with inKind -- the receipt if you don't take the screen shot immediately can be found in your history and mine is also always emailed to me as well. So there is both the itemized receipt and the screen shot of the payment and tip. I have never had a mystery shop company question it. With so many ways to pay online with your phone these days (QR code, apple pay, etc) I think they don't really question it.

May be okay, but I would be cautious using InKind credit. You can't tip with the credit so they charge tip separately on your credit card and that may or may not make the receipt confusing.

For me, it worked out fine. I got the receipt with the bill. I then paid via the app. I didn't end up getting a final receipt but I just wrote in the tip on the original. I suppose that's the same as if you paid cash.

I have never gotten a receipt from any restaurant with the tip included. Using in Kind just take the itemized receipt they bring to your table and write the tip in just like you would if you used a credit card. I remember years ago there were a few msc that wanted both the itemized and the credit card receipt but I have not seen that requirement for some time. InKind though does send a receipt by email. You can screenshot it and include it if needed , or print it out and add the tip in pen to it.

A warning to inKind users. I ate at a restaurant on my own inKind dime last week. They have been heavily advertising that I can get back 20% on any dine now. When I went to pay the app asked if I wanted to use credit to pay and get 20% back. I chose not to do that as once before they charged my credit card and my inKind card for the same meal. It was easily fixed on their end. However that word Use your credit did not ring safe to me. Did they mean my credit card? or did they mean the credit I have left on my inKind card? Well it turns out after talking with customer service it means use your credit card to pay. So the 20% off any meal using the app is only if you pay with your credit card. I did not get 20% back using inKind and let them know this deal is very misleading. Perhaps others will read this as if you use your credit card rather than if you use your inKind credit. To me credit can describe what money I have on my inKind app.
So if you are buying your inKind card at a deep discount do not click this "use credit" choice to get 20% back. Currently I am getting 40% off with my inKind gift card. Much better.
