Panda Express has monitored security now?

So, I am having my dinner at Panda tonight and an intercom comes on at a volume and tone that I thought we were under nuclear attack. This crazy voice comes on and says something about "Monitoring Panda Express." Then asks, "Is everything OK at Panda Express?" Apparently, the associates were not loud enough in their answer, since they were asked again. The associates on the line stated that they were fine, and the mysterious sounding voice in the sky replied, "Will continue monitoring."

There are locations that I shop that probably need this kind of monitoring (but the unfunded Police aren't responding anyway). This location doesn't even require a code for the restroom.

Anybody else experience this yet?

"bayshopper" sounds like SF Bay area? It's a cesspool up there (actually most of California is now).

Only place I'm aware of that an In N Out actually decided to shut down and give up. They have an In N Out in Compton. They still do well enough there to not shut it down.

2200 S Central Ave, Compton, CA 90220

What if it's "fake news" just to have it come on so you think it is being monitored? Would be smart of them to try something like that. Could deter a few hoodrats from trying something, but honestly, most of these a-holes don't care and wreak havoc on society cuz they only care about themselves.

I did visit a Panda in Las Vegas off Maryland Parkway that had armed guard. I talked to him for a minute. He told me that before the armed guards were hired, the customers would just walk behind the counter and take whatever they wanted.
It did not occur to me that it was AI. Creepy though.

There is a Panda near where I work that ha a guard. He just sits at a table. I usually have a customer walk me out. Once I found am Eastern European Basketball Team. They were helpful.

Last time at that location, the junkies jumped into the dumpster enclosure to shoot up.

BTW @ hb I have been sitting on the patio of Panda next to that In N Out in Oakland while cars were getting bipped. Just another day in Oakland.
Easy to google; they've had it since 2018.

Perhaps the interactive communication speakers/devices need adjusting or maintenance. Especially if it's startling the customers. Maybe include it in the report?

Thanks for that. Over the last 6 years I’ve probably been to Panda Express 200 times and never had that happen..
i mostly do drive-thru and online pickup orders, so the chances I ever hear anything like that would be really low.
I live in the "cesspool " that is California and so far of the Pandas i go to there are no issues. No security guards, no one shooting up or just shooting in general . It is not at all scary to go there and there are no loud interruptions. In fact, the sky is blue, the sun is out, everyone has access to free health insurance and is very nice.

Everyone does not have access to free health insurance in CA. LOL that is funny.
I guess I should qualify that by saying anyone who does not have insurance from their employer or who has an income below 4x the poverty level which is close to 50,000 has free health insurance. Yes, you are correct, Elon Musk probably does not qualify for the free health insurance especially if he moved to Texas.

Reminds me of the time I worked for a VERY large Fortune 500 Company and the HR Attorney doing annual manager training always referred to California as the "People's Republic of California".

Truth! People's Republic / Commifornia.

Healthcare is free for (chose your term) people who are not here with immigration approval.

I work full time for the gov't. I am the sleeper-cell of conservatism in my union. I just checked - I will pay $1000 premium a month for myself only when I retire until I am 65. If I insurance my spouse too, it is $2000 a month. I want free healthcare insurance. LOL I am currently paying $1800 a month for insurance while I work. Let me know where I can get that "free" healthcare.
Maybe, thanks to Luigi Mangione, real monitored security will be at all fast food restaurants.
