I used to them for another company years ago. Well before Covid. I believe they used to pay fee in addition. Most of the time I threw the pizza out. Awful. Really bad. I rarely ever throw food away. The chain used to make good pizza 30 years ago when I first tried them.

I just accepted one. It’s a delivery shop and my boys eat their weight in pizza so I did a mock order. With the requirements my total is $36 not including tip. Yeah canceling. They need to reconsider these shops

It’s only to measure the temp when you receive it. No pictures of the temperature

I ordered what they told me to order, one plain and one with pepperoni and sausage. I ended up throwing out tthe pizza, it was that bad.
They are shopping closed locations, also.

I agree, They made acceptable pizzas a long time ago. But now they are REALLY bad over-processed prefabricated "pizzas". I wouldn't subject a homeless person to eat such bad food.
I can make a good pizza at home, including with fresh vegetable ingredients, a flatbread crust, bought at Aldi for a fraction of what this "pizza" chain charges.
(For reference, the last GREAT pizza I had, with a hand tossed crust, was several months ago in Copenhagen, Denmark.)
So I noticed the remaining pizza shops in my area are all for delivery only. I figured I would decline those specific shops but they aren't removed after choosing that option. Anyone else noticing this at all on their end?

Another out of pocket shop. I stopped accepting Cane's shops, even though the survey is easy, matter of principle not going to pay to do a mystery shop. I just cancelled my Pizza one.

They are just sitting on the board here. I’m not interested in losing money on nasty pizza. I might consider it if there was shop pay and sufficient reimbursement. These need to be carry out as well. Is the entire point of the shop the temperature measurement? You have to wonder the motivation..
If no one picks up, they will increase the fee. I don't get the mentality of free food, free gas, free report from MSCs. Don't do them till they are reasonable.

I think some people get excited at something NEW that comes out. Some of the same people who take these won't take a 5G for the $9 base pay, but will jump on this pizza for NO pay. That logic baffles me.
I do not have any interest in doing them. Even if they pay $10, I'm still not that interested. If I see $15 or more, that might peak my interest a bit.

I remember years back, Popeyes was releasing a new meal and giving it out for free. People waited in line for hours, but the meal itself was only $2.99 or $3.99. The local newspaper did an article on the "free food phenomenon" and people who could easily pay the 3 or 4 bucks would still wait in line for 2-3 hours because it was "free". It's really bizarre what people do for free stuff.
If the report is super easy (minimal narrative), and takes less than 30 minutes, TRH for example, I don't mind just getting free food. When I started out, I was doing lots of restaurants for "free food", but found with the minimum ordering requirements some of them had, I was paying OOP, not even to mention spending an hour when I came home checking boxes, but then having to reiterate in a narrative what I just selected. Tonight I have a MS with a friend that is going to be OOP AND I'm going to have to rush home to write an hour report because it's due by 9 AM and I have work at 8. It's not something I am looking forward to doing, but my friend loves the food, so I can justify spending $20. They have a great salad bar you can add to an entree for $10, then most of my entree I'll take home for lunch tomorrow. But a shop like this is few and far between. The shops I am referring to are in the Conchy Joe's family, and the most I've seen them bonused for is $10. I think new MSers just don't know what all they are getting in to, don't realize they may go OOP, and also to HHBD point, people jump on anything new, which I can be guilty of, too. Back on topic, these pizza shops might be ok if I had teenagers to feed and was buying pizza anyway, but certainly not for OOP.

But, the only way I could get it completely covered by reimbursement was if the shop was NOT delivery, and they had a two pizza deal for under 30.00, and I used a 23% discounted gift card to pay. Oh, and also a location that wasn't too far from my house. Out of about 30 shops on the board, only one fit all those criteria.
I found one for Monday that is carry out (order from app). The app offers a 20% off coupon and the total is under $30. The location is a competitor that is actually not too bad and the location is 1 mile from my house.

I don’t like how they don’t tell you upfront what the required toppings are. I signed up for one and it required a veggie pizza that had black onions and mushrooms. I don’t like either topping. You’re allowed to remove one topping only. I cancelled.
Ok, so I just completed one. The location is 2 miles from my house and it was carry out using the app. The total was $26.72, but the report is much longer than anticipated. The sausage and pepperoni pizza was edible, but the cheese pizza was horrible. I would not do one again for less than a $20 shopper fee plus full reimbursement.
Easy report, mostly multiple choice, took 15 minutes. At the end they asked if I would do future pizza shops. I replied no and stated it was due to the low pay. Even with a coupon, it was $29.89 which seems high considering one pizza was just cheese. Here’s the kicker: the instructions state “We encourage you to tip!” and yet the reimbursement barely covers a carry-out order with a coupon. I did not tip.
I took one assignment and didn't realize until I got ready to do the shop and read the guidelines in more detail that the reimbursement was not going to come close to covering the very specific ordering requirements. We like pizza and I had already planned it as dinner, so I went ahead with the assignment. Although it wasn't what I would generally order, the pizza was very good, which was a plus, but I sure learned to look a whole lot closer at the details with them next time. I don't sweat if I go over a little on the reimbursement amount if I am feeding the family, however, if I remember correctly, this was close to $25 over the reimbursement amount for the required pizza order, and this was with a discount that I had on the delivery price. The report was pretty comprehensive to boot. I won't do another one of those at that amount either.

So there was a carryout location bonused downtown in my city and I took the bait. There is 10" of snow on the ground and I am completely bored. The roads were cleared and my husband has a truck, so why not? I pulled this shop off without a hitch and was able to tip. The reason I just had to share was that as soon as I had taken my last photo, my cat leaped across the room and jumped right smack dab into the middle of the cheese pizza! His footprints were imbedded into the cheese! He quickly leaped off and started grooming. He did not like this pizza. We all got a good laugh and I was able to submit the shop. It was just the funniest thing. I wish we could post pics here. We were able to salvage the sausage and pepperoni for dinner along with a salad and fruit.
Reimbursement has been increased and it varies depending on the type of shop, pickup $35 or delivery $45. They've also added small fees but they vary too. For those who've done these before, are they now worth it?
The only ones left in my area are for delivery, so that increase helps since the costs for those shops are higher compared to carryout. I enjoyed doing this shop even when it was reimbursement only, but the shop fee is a nice little bonus on top of that.@LindaS wrote:

I would have picked up the delivery shop for the increased fee, but I am outside the vendor's delivery area, even though it is in my town. Probably because there are other locations of that chain that are closer to my home.
the delivery area in general shall be within 5-6 miles. That rule is applicable as well for any delivery company like, Dordash or Uber eats
