The new MSC is one of the slowest paying in the business.

Can you give any hints?
The reimbursement and pay are exactly the same as they were before. $5 pay, $60 lunch, $70 dinner.

I don't think I have done a shop with the new Outback MSC though.

They also lowered the reimbursement. Boo!! Boo!!! Hiss!!
I rarely apply for casual and never for fine dining shops; the problem usually being the scant fee. I did, though, complete an Outback assignment in Nov. of 2023 with a reimbursement of $65+ a $5 fee. Today's offer shows a $5 reimbursement increase for SW Ohio and a different MSC.
A steak, another entree, and drink or dessert with 20% tip for a $60 budget? I’m not sure whether to be a Happy or Sad Boy.

I think that is depends who own the particular locations. I see one shop in Reading PA that offer now $5 plus $20 bonus and $60 reimbursement with the same old one MSC

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009
Mine switched. I believe the reimbursement, fees, and ordering requirements are the same. I wasn't able to self-assign, though; it said some qualification was missing.

1 Alcoholic drink OR Appetizer OR dessert....so only one of those is required? (Plus the two entrees) $60 reimbursement still not enough plus waiting 2 months for payment..not at this time of year pour moi.

I looked on the job board of the slowest two in my opinion and did not see them in my area. I’m getting really tired of the slow paying companies with the high out of pocket shops. I’m so happy that a few of the slow paying companies have changed their ways.
Not enough reimbursement for outback, i don't love their food but was ok for a free meal. This MSC takes way too long to pay, not interested unless they change their pay schedule.

Me too.
Hi all! I don’t normally post here, but these shops are still with the company they were with last month. We are just partnering with the company where you see them posted for some scheduling support. ✌

You mean after it left the smart company and went to Goliath, it has gone to yet another MSC?
Apparently the blob was having trouble getting the jobs filled, so they contracted it to a company very well known for taking forever and a day to pay for services rendered. They could increase the payment, or even make the reimbursement so that everyone in the party can eat a similar meal.

Any number of us would jump on a restaurant meal with a reasonable reimbursement, and/or a payment that at least resembled a reasonable payment for an hour's time.
I have only eaten out Outback one time and it was for a shop. The scenerio was "birthday celebration." The experience goes down as one of the worst "birthday celebrations" ever. They lost me as a shopper and a potential customer. I am not sure which was worse, the food or the service. I would need to be paid a signifigant shop fee to return. I would rather shop for mattresses all day and test drive a Kia than eat at Outback ever again.
Wouldn't they be on the job board for the old company then too?

Carey, nice to see you here. Not to scare you off from posting, but here's the truth of this move: Outsourcing these to a company that takes 2 months to pay makes the finances of this project much worse. Reimbursement already doesn't cover the meal, $5 Shopper's Pay doesn't cover reporting time and gas and now 8 weeks to be reimbursed at all....its not a winning combo.

The shops for December don't appear on the blob's job board; they are on the "Homer Simpson Burn" job board. This likely means it'll now follow the "Homer Simpson Burn" pay schedule, which is one of the slowest around. The pay and reimbursement for my location here in Podunk have stayed the same: $5/$70. They called it "weekday lunch" in the email, but mine was weekday dinner from 4 p.m. to one hour before closing. It was supposed to be self-assigned, but I received a qualification error when I tried to sign up. I applied and was eventually assigned by a scheduler.

This is the exact same shop as before. Same photos, same questions, same 250-character limit for the narratives. The only differences are a couple of picture examples added to the form (showing where to find the store number and transaction number) and some slight wording changes on the narrative questions. For example:

Previous: "Dining Experience comments: Max character = 250"
Now: "Please describe your dining experience today. What aspects did you find enjoyable or unsatisfactory, and why? Please provide specific examples which will be used to improve the future dining service. Max character = 250"

I find that last part funny because in all the months I've been doing this shop, NOTHING has improved at my location. You either get bad food or bad service (sometimes it's a BOGO, and both are bad). I've yet to have a visit that I would rate any better than merely average, and that's probably being generous. And before someone replies "stop doing them then"....I do them because my mother thinks the food is great, and if it makes her happy, I'll suffer through it. (Also, I think if Outback were truly interested in improving, they'd allow for more than a paltry 250-character answer.)

The guidelines are the same ones dated 9/27/2024. As before, we aren't allowed to redeem rewards or use discounts of any kind, and a 20% tip is required. I did notice when I took the test that it specifically said the tip mandate was pre-tax.

Ordering requirements are the same: shopper plus one guest minimum (shopper plus three guests maximum); one alcoholic beverage OR one appetizer OR one dessert (this is per table, not per person); one steak entree AND one additional entree (can be steak as well) for shopper and one guest (additional guests can order whatever they want).

Payment can be via credit card or gift card; no cash, not even for tips. (If you use more than one gift card, make sure you get a receipt for each gift card showing the balance is $0. A lot of times, the server will not bring receipts for gift cards that are used entirely, but the editors want them included. I use the excuse that I run the receipts through a receipt-scanning app because I get credit for them.)

Now, sit back and wait four months to receive your money.

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown
The MSC was great back in the day - think Christmas HAM shops, movies, oil changes, fitness center. I've only done one or two shops for them lately and it was a burger shop.

As in Holy Sh*t it takes this Brand a long time to pay?

If it's not, another hint, please?

Can't be the Cloud People (the absolute slowest) as they are pretty much just apartments.

I've only eaten at an Outback once, and that was years ago. I'd be up to shop them just to see...

Used to be able to bring a guest to a fine dining shop and reimbursement covered bot our meals. Now I go alone and can max out the reimbursement myself.

Restaurants have increased their prices but reimbursement hasn't kept up.
Rosie correctly comments--Restaurants have increased their prices but reimbursement hasn't kept up.

Bob agrees and adds--When an IC is willing to work for less, no savvy business is going to increase their cost by paying more than necessary. It is directly the responsibility of contractors to accept or decline work.

As dining out is generally considered a leisure activity, the situation of the needy would not normally be involved.
