Bonehead move

Naw Service, that would involve letting someone else touch my phone. That's not happening, at least not in this lifetime.

They only get to touch it if you hand it to them. When I started showing the LOA on my phone for EM, I never handed my phone over to the clerk. I flashed them the letter, and on occasion had to enlarge it so they could read it, but nobody ever handled my phone.

Did the shop within a half hour of closing. Like...4:31 PM start when the place closed at 5:00...I was oblivious to my error, and submitted the shop only to have it rejected for being one or two minutes late.....!
Did a Quick Quack car wash yesterday.

You'd think after doing hundreds of these my MO would be down cold.

Started the Voice Recorder app, and, instead of placing my phone face down on my dashboard as I always do, I placed it back on its magnetic mount.

So the display screen showing the audio recording meters alive and kicking was fully visible to the cashier.

They made sure their name tag was visible when they returned with my receipt. It was under their jacket when they greeted me...

Have synthesizers, will travel...
I just keep doing stupid things. Day before holiday, call the place I am going to for the hours just in case they were to close early. She tells me they close at 6 but they may leave at 5. My window is between 4 and 7. I rearrange my shops as I was going to go there last but now I went there first.

Didn't even realize until I got home that my receipt says 3.57. OMG..... I put in notes that I arrived a few minutes early because they said they may close early. Not sure if that will salvage it but of course it had a $30 bonus plus reimbursement. Not expecting it to go through.
Not only ate at-but fully submitted-the wrong Texas Roadhouse location. The meal was a disaster and this would have been a great shop for feedback but it was rejected, rightfully so. Had to go back the next day to the correct one to fix it! How did I mess this one up so badly? I read the email, the eval, and every confirmation wrong.

Our meals were forgotten for 40 minutes, then they were completely wrong, not at all what we ordered.
We didn't send them back because we were starving but our waitress was nonchalant about it. "At least you have something right, lol" The manager came over to apologize and didn't quite give "legendary" service just an excuse for why we got another tables food hahaha. It was absolute chaos and hilarious! I've never given a bad report except this one and go figure it couldn't even be used.

Went to the right location the next day and had a very typical, very "all good" dinner so they got the positive feedback they want.

Thought of this thread immediately as soon as the rejection came. WHAT A BONEHEAD MOVE.

Did you take photos with time stamps? Perhaps the receipt time was off.

Timestamps not required but should be in the meta data of the files anyhow. Either way, they accepted it and I was shocked!! I think if it hadn't been for the holiday thing and the fact that they couldn't get this location shopped for awhile, it would have rejected otherwise. Relieved!!!
I hope it doesn't turn out to be a boneheaded move.....I impulsively jumped on a recent fragrance shop...the report looks quite simple....I get that it's not a fee or reimbursement, just offsetting the cost in exchange for feedback...can't report until the package arrives.
I've never done one before...fingers crossed, wondering what could go wrong lol....
Was doing a shop and it was supposed to be a drive thru. I pulled into the stall and completed the shop and then realized it was DT. I was doing a bunch and got confused. Anyway, I did the DT right after the stall and acted like I was on the phone and was having a conversation with "my buddy" on the phone as i came to the window.... "Now are you sure you are done with the order and don't want anything else cause I am not turning around." Seems like it worked like a charm lol

I have a privacy screen. It looks like a black screen unless you look at it head-on.

I put my phone into a new holder, which conveniently blocked the microphone. Yep. I blocked my own recording. Brilliant.
I am frustrated that I was unsuccessful at getting one of these. No need to leave home and it's for my favorite brand. I use their fragrances and skin care products. I get an email and they wind up all scheduled already when I attempt to self assign. Yes, I consider it a good $$ off a product. If you have completed it, how did the shop go? Report easy?

Hi, MDS, I wouldn't have snagged one if I hadn't been online checking email right when they came out. The fact they were going so fast told me that shoppers must think recently well of them.
I just got an email that the product has been backordered, so it may be awhile until I can evaluate and do the report...but I will come back and follow up.
Well, I made another bonehead move. I had to order a pizza online for carryout. I didnt check the location and it was still set from when I did one on vacation three states away. Luckily, I called the pizza place immediately and got the pizza and my payment canceled. I then ordered from the correct restaurant.

JL, welcome to the club.. I ordered a sandwich from a Publix in another county, then got mad at the manager for not making my sandwich, only to find when I got back to my car, that the sandwich I ordered was waiting for me in a county far far away.
Hi MDS, I just finished the fragrance shop...they must have someone come across inventory because suddenly the package showed up and I was able to finish the report. Technically, I wouldn't call it a mystery shop. It was really pure market research. Either way I got a huge discount on one of my favorite scents.
I wish we had a heads up when these are coming, so we can grab them quickest lol.
Pure dumb one: I got a nicely bounced Five Guys ---$47.00!! This was the one time I didn't check on the guidelines because hey, I've done tons of these and they've all been perfect right?

Well I go home to do my report - and it was a MILKSHAKE shop and I never ordered the milkshake. So....I not only missed the $47.00 but I had to pay for the so-so lunch and funny part is I like the milkshake shops due to a few extra credit card points. I still did the report, and told the Helpdesk I forgot but here's the report anyway. needless to say - unvalued shop and I felt so dumb lol.

Car dealership: I did screenshots of pre and post lead submission BUT the darn date and time wasn't in screen shot. Let's just say - I knew how to creatively handle that one. I did everything legit so I wasn't turning in a bad shop but yeah, creativity saved me on that one smiling smiley
During a required phone call for a luxury wrist band shop, I was asked if my interest in the product was for a specific reason. I claimed that my ‘great aunt’ offered to gift me one. I don’t know why I felt the need to add the word ‘great’ other than I’m not a good liar on the fly. Realizing we were not living in biblical times, I quickly tried to recover by saying she offered to either buy me a watch or a hot tub. When the salesperson said ‘that’s nice of her’ I said, ‘yeah, she’s great.’
Needless to say I was treated like royalty. Who knew my gaffe would manifest a somewhat enjoyable experience? Certainly not my favorite MSC, who I bailed out for $300.00.
@BFB, I finally snagged one for January! It pays to be relaxing at home, LOL. The report looks easy. I am thinking about all the products that I own that will go into that picture,

Hey yeah for you! I got another one too today! my second, I am so happy about that...I just happened to be checking email when they came out with it...within *3* minutes, they were ALL gone....
The report is not bad at all....just make sure to keep all the packaging and the box and don't open until after photos...
Lucky us!
