I won't retell the whole experience because I told the story in another thread a while back. I'll re-share the best part for those who missed the original story.
I was on a Kia shop and my salesman was a young man, early 20s, who was very nosey. He wanted to talk about things beyond buying a car. During the first part of the meeting, while I was looking at the vehicle I had sent the web lead about, he asked if I was married or had kids. I told him I was divorced and didn't have any kids. He then asked why my wife and I didn't have kids. I simply smiled and said she couldn't have any. I didn't think anything of it, and refocused the conversation back to the car.
A while later we were on a test drive and he starts asking nosey questions again. I have to keep making up stuff. He eventually asked why my wife and I divorced. I said something to the effect of, "She got knocked up by this dude she was running around with." As soon as I said it, I remembered I had already told him my wife couldn't get pregnant, so I quickly followed up with, "so not only did I learn my wife was cheating, I learned my little guys can't swim! * big smile * -- So, does this thing have lane assist?"
The look on his face was priceless and his nosey questions pretty much stopped after that.
There is the truth.
Then there is the right thing to say.
