My favorite type of shop has changed.....

Interestingly enough, now that i work at an airport I am less interested in airport shops. Today I was off and I did a shop at a cabinet store and I found myself very much interested and engaged just as I was with airport shops before. So I'm wondering - have some of you found your favorite genre of shops changing? Just curious.

Of course! People and life circumstances change. Hotel and resort shops used to be some of my favorite shops but I don't do them anymore because I am now on dialysis and it is a pain to try to find an available dialysis center that is convenient (w/r/t time and distance). I used to love when I could squeeze 20 to 30 parking shops in a single day. Now, gas is too costly and I don't have the energy for that. One thing that has not changed is my favorite shops are usually the ones that are the most profitable. The shops themselves change, though, as I come across new opportunities or figure out how to work smarter.
I used to love doing apartment shops. Now, I don't have the patience. I may give them another go now that I am learning AI.

Recently, valet, bar, and retail shops located near work have been convenient because of how close it is and on the drive back home. Sometimes, various shops on the same day in a shopping mall or area. I haven't tried an airport shop yet.

Maybe some gas stations will pop up later. I enjoyed doing those.

My 10ft pole list has expanded. I enjoy any shop with a value added (nice meal and pay), night out with my husband, etc.. I like retail shops with pay and reimbursement (or a large enough reimbursement to make it worth my time). I now enjoy the long term care facility shops. My father is aging and the scenerio is all too real to me now. I no longer have to act.

Do you mind share experience for the airport shops?
I used to enjoy more of the activity and sit-down restaurant shops. Now, I prefer the quick, short report shops like a convenience store or grabbing a pizza at a pizza chain.

I feel like restaurant quality and service has gone down (slower service, etc.) and I just don't have the patience to sit and wait for a slow server, and then report on it. Negative reports tend to take longer, imo.

My daughter is desperate to go to a trampoline park over Thanksgiving or Winter break. I might do it as a shop because it will cost us over $100 to go as a family, but the thought of a 3 hour long report and uploading a bunch of pics is off-putting.
I still like gas station shops best, they are relatively simple, and I like the benefits. I have been doing more restaurants lately, I like getting the cute little toys with the gimic alcoholic beverage every month from one of the restaurants. And I like the fresh food, and the cool art and sculptures at a different restaurant, it also helps that they almost always have amazing service. But I believe I'll always focus on the gas stations and grocery stores, they benefit me the most.
My favorites change all the time...just depends on the details...but gas station shops pretty consistently.
I say this with no shame or sarcasm- feel I have undiagnosed ADHD. I find myself saying. "This is my new favorite" to any newish shop frequently. Case and point I did two C Stores this weekend. I'm not new to the MSC but new to taking on this specific shop. Took me 10 minutes start to finish-the shop and the eval. They are so simple-mostly yes/no questions. The novelty of reading new guidelines, and the rush of doing the new shop makes me forget all the other great shops. I literally said out loud THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE when hitting submit. Tomorrow I'll get a juicy bonus email and inevitably that will be my new favorite for a bit.
For years I was all about Cirrus apartment shops. I had an investment income stream that covered my bottom line, making my shopping activities gravy. As such, the slow payout was no big deal. Shops were at least $50 for a little over 1 hour total time, worst case scenario.

Now they only pay $35 base, and I no longer have the investment income, so the 90-day pay window is no longer acceptable.

I now specialize in gas stations (all brands except Sinclair, who banned me), with a focus on overnight remote routes. Phillips 66 darkness shops when the store is closed are the faves. Just knocked out a couple on a recent route with nice bonuses: about $40 gross receipts for less than 10 minutes of work.

I've gone from the slowest-paying company in the industry to the fastest, which is huge for me.

Do you mind sharing the details of why you were banned? could be helpful to some of us to know.

It was through no fault of my own.

They dinged me for only spending 20 minutes at a couple of locations (card locks, with no store to evaluate) and for an overly negative report where half the lights in the store were turned off and the clerk said absolutely NOTHING to me during the counter interaction.

The ban came from the vendor and cannot be appealed.

I had previously been banned from Chevron Customer First due to ambiguous address info and a testy editor. As that came from the MSC, luckily I was able to appeal and get it overturned.
