Cricket Wireless - Compliance Review

To heed advice from @shopperbob in trying new shops. Serendipitously, I received an email about a Cricket Wireless Compliance Review for a nearby location. I accepted the shop and am planning to call today to announce when I will be visiting.

I plan to review the guidelines, watch the video, and print needed materials. I believe there was another thread about this somewhere that I can also read.

But in general, for anyone who has recently done this shop, how long did it take you? Do you have any tips or pointers? I plan on taking a late lunch and try to visit when it's less busy.

If no customers are in the store, it should take no longer than 15 minutes. Also, the employees are allowed to use any printed materials they may have in a binder to answer the questions. They can even read them off to you right out of the binder. I had one store once where the employee couldn't find the binder, so they called another store and read off the answers given to them as the other employee read the answers to my store employee over the phone. The point is to make sure the employee(s) would know how/where to get the information if and when they ever need it. Easy peasy.
It really is an easy shop. Despite my call ahead, the employee never seems to know someone is coming, the info does not get passed along. I like to tell them it is open book and they can use any resources and I try to make them feel comfortable. 15 - 20 minutes tops unless there are customers in the store. I have done quite a few, never had to wait.

This exactly. If the employee doesn't have the printed instructions in front of them, strongly hint they should make to effort to find them. Things will go much more smoothly for both of you.

I take my Mac and fill out the survey onsite as I go along. I only print the sheet that the employee needs to fill out. Make sure to tell them to print their name legibly because you'll need it for the survey. Same for the store address - I had an editor ding me because the employee's number 4 looked like a 9.

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown
It make your life much easier when you do the survey with a tablet or your phone. Just read off your question and input the answer right away. Takes 15-20 mins per shop
I echo what others have said; if the location is not busy, breezy easy and fast. I also fill out the survey on-site. Once in awile you will interact with a brand new employee that needs a bit more direction.
Thanks everyone, all of the replies were spot-on. When I went, there were no other customers. I meant to pre-fill some of the LOA, but the employee filled it out completely for me. She didn't use a binder, but used her phone. I think she was texting with someone on the more difficult questions, but all good. She did exceptionally well. Done in less than 15 minutes, photos and all.

The only part I deviated was that I printed out the report with the questions. For me, too much scrolling in navigating the report and just in case it doesn't save. Other than that, I echo what everyone else on the forums has said. I would recommend, as well!
Thanks again, guysmom! Hopefully, some will open up in your area in the future. There's a good number of them in my area. I think I remember when they first rolled out, no one took them in my area. A year ago, I would not have taken any of these. But lately doing more of the reveal shops and inspections, I've gotten more comfortable with it and actually seek these assignments now. I'm glad I tried one!
