Texas Roadhouse Line Dancing

Has anyone done one of the new special line dancing shops? It says to look at the guidelines and survey to see how the shop is different, but I don't think one can see those unless they accept the shop. I see there is a timeframe requirement for this one. They are only available at a few locations.

Unless TXRH has changed their rules, I haven't always seen the waitstaff line dance while eating there (like dancing every half hour).

I'll usually stay between 1- 1 1/2 hours because several friends will get together and catch up while eating.

I have not seen any line dancing in at least 10 years at our local TXRHs.

I have never (in 20 years) seen line dancing at TXRH. Maybe it is a regional thing.

In all the years I've been going to Roadhouse, I've seen line dancing *one* time. That was years ago, well before Covid. I don't recall if they were smiling and/or seemed happy.

Somewhere around 20 years ago, in Arizona, I got to see the line dance at a Texas Roadhouse on a date with my ex. I have never seen them line dance since I've been mystery shopping.

Never saw it in my local ones. The manager said staff turnover is too high to keep teaching the dance to everyone.

When my son.was in college in Massachusetts, we saw the line dancing at that location every time.

Every time i went to visit, i grabbed one of those shops.

I see line dancing almost everytime I shop TX Roadhouse, but I am in the city where corporate is located. They get into it here.

Thankfully, in 20 years I've never seen line dancing. Having worked in "Corporate" restaurants, I feel sorry for the lowly workers who have to do silly stuff that a millionaire in an office think will increase his profit.

I did see it several times at Joe's Crab Shack (not a shop) 20 or so years ago.

They only do it at certain locations I think, which is why they don't have the shops for all locations. Thank you for sharing that you have never seen line dancing?

If anyone has done one of these line dancing shops, I would love to know what is different about the shop.

I did see it one time. The caveat might be I generally shop near opening time.

If you like regular TXRH shops...then why not take this one? How different could it be? Probably just a few more questions. If you don't like what you have to do, then tell them you are not interested and it wasn't clear up front.

That's liable to get his account deactivated depending on which scheduler he has. That's what happened to me.

I'm guessing you don't have to participate in said line dancing...and just observe it. Right?

Has anyone actually seen the guidelines for the line dancing shop, and how it's different?

I agree. But if you like TXRH shops...then just do it. It can't be that bad. If you don't like it, then don't do it again. I think we know the MSC is not difficult. This isn't one of the narrative-intense MSC

You can just email the scheduler and ask to see the guidelines before accepting. They are usually very accommodating.

On the report that I have seen recently there has been a requirement to stay at least 40 minutes to observe the line dancers. The question just asks if they were enthusiastic. I wonder if this is what the OP is referring to.

i believe TXRH has sold franchise licenses. So maybe the corporate locations do the line dancing and the others can or cannot if they want. I personally prefer places that do NOT sell their name because you can expect the same consistency when they are all run one way (chipotle and in n out are 2 that come to mind). I like TXRH...but i find that they don't all operate the same way and it can be frustrating for a customer.

For a moment, my mind wandered off thinking about Twin Peaks. But I haven't seen this specific line-dancing shop, as well. I don't think it's possible in the locations near me. A long time ago, I remember reading a thread on Reddit about this. I'm not sure, but I think it's rare where the employees are forced to participate.

I also agree about the In-N-Out consistency.

I do 4 locations around me. Only one does line dancing and when I say they get into it, they GO HARD. Guests join them too. This location gets bonused well as it's rarely done (except me) and I love it. it's my favorite location of the four and always slammed.

I had one of them assigned to me, but it kept getting rescheduled/cancelled due to the hurricane in Florida. It is very different from the usual shop, except the $50 reimbursement is the same. You need to stay for 70 minutes, and can only go between 4:45 and 8:45, IIRC. It looked easy AF, and we all know TRH is easy to begin with. The big deal is assessing the line dancers for specific uniform standards and other look fors. It's for some company wide contest. I definitely would pick it up if they ever get done in my neck of the woods in Florida.

When I did my several years ago, I could have done any time after a hour after opening to an hr before closing..

I needed to stay at least 45 mins

I see them in my areas. They don't dance every time I am there but most of the time.

I've not seen it post-COVID

Have synthesizers, will travel...

I always saw them in the Colorado and Washington establishments.

I see line-dancing fairly frequently in North Carolina.
