Five Guys - when you know you've been made

You can add extra patties of you want to. I don't know what the upper limit is other than imagination.

And as pointed out a 5 Guys little burger is roughly the size of a McD's double cheese burger....maybe. Depends on the cooks. Same for the fry serving. Obviously this is one of the reasons they have up checking. Making sure the servings are the right size and properly cooked since it's all done by hand rather that machines.

Wow.. a little cheeseburger with lots of fresh toppings is always plenty for me along with the abundance of greasy fries. The double burger is good, but fills me up too much...of course I have to eat the whole thing 'cause that's me...not the fries though.

I was thinking about the lettuce wrap too. Is that permitted to order?

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I've gotten the burger in a bowl too with lots of veggies. I get mustard, mayo and ketchup on the side and mix it to make a dressing for the burger salad. It's really good.

For all of you who think 5 Guys food is so great! McD's was actually ranked healthier.

This is from an article in Mens Health recently published:

At the top of the list with the unhealthiest cheese burger is Five Guys, notching a total unhealthiness score of 50. Five Guys' French fries, which are known for using fresh potatoes and fried in peanut oil, also ranked as the unhealthiest fast food fries.

McDonald's and Burger King, perhaps the most ubiquitous fast food chains in the country, performed better than many of their counterparts, relatively speaking. The two institutions tied for 14th place with a total unhealthiness score of 18.

@Fatlady

I've seen several articles come out in the last couple weeks saying the 5G cheeseburger and 5G fries were the unhealthiest of the entire group. No one said they were "healthy". We were talking about taste, quality and portion sizes. In addition, maybe they are less healthy because you are getting MORE in portion size. If they were to take the single patty version and compare to the same size burgers, would they still be worst? If you got the same size portion of fries, would they still be the worst?
I also do the "hamburger salad". Another option I like is a bowl with the burger, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, grilled green peppers, and bar bq sauce. Lately, I have been ordering the BLT with extra tomato. All of these make a nice alternative to the standard burger.

I usually get the Grilled Cheese Sandwich (yes that’s allowed) and add veggies. I also get Little Cajun Fries and a Regular Drink. I like to think it’s the healthiest meal you can get there, and you stay under the reimbursement level.
I do think they started recognizing me as the secret shopper after doing several over the past few years.
