Price rise at 5 G reimbursement not increasing!

Just did a 5 G
Prices way way up since my last visit
Anyone who takes these for the $9 fee is crazy
Food not that great
$19 for a burger fries and drink obscene
$17.25 reimbursement a joke
Not worth doing
I just wonder who the he k would eat there not on a shop
It is a total rip off

5 G prices vary from one location to another. I have been paying the same amount since May of 2024 (there was a price increase in late April). On Friday I paid $17.24 (including sales tax) for a Small Burger, Little Fries, and Large Drink. The 5 G locations in my area are often crowded to the point that occasionally I have to wait for a seat. I admit I am surprised to see parents with 2 or 3 kids ordering and eating there. They could easily have a $100 order.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
Prices where I am have risen and the 9 percent sales tax does not help. As for families eating there…for what it costs they could buy a cart of healthy food. Guess they prefer to feed their kids what a Mens Health article said was the unhealthiest cheeseburger of all fast food places. Poor kids
No worries, US consumers just put it on their credit card... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They just mimicking what the federal govt does. Not party specific here. Our fed govt just increases the debt year over year and prints money whenever it wants. Maybe the law should be, no one in congress gets paid if they cannot stay on a balanced budget. Betcha behavior would change real quick if they stopped getting all the perks they get to run the country into the ground.
I've also seen groups of families with young kids eating there and wonder how the heck in this economy they think that's a good idea. Doesn't seem to be worth it to me. The 5Gs around here are not hurting for business either. I know there are a lot of wealthy folks in this state, but these folks don't appear to be them. There are also many millennials and GenZers picking up their orders lately. Must be nice to have so much discretionary income that you can spend it on burgers, fries and shakes.

Hell, a rotisserie chicken, a bag of microwaveable tater tots and a prepackaged salad or microwaveable vegetable makes a meal for a little over what one person spends at 5G. And it's probably much healthier for the whole family.

Perhaps all these families are on the road traveling?
Speaking of "how do they afford it?"--- I see families at Raising Canes all the time where every member of the family has a Caniac Combo (15.99 plus tax). That's just in the dining room. And I see cars wrapped around the building at dinnertime.
I haven ever been to Raising Canes- a good friend called me the other day to say she went there for the first time and said the food was crap. She went on and on saying it was a rip and crappy food. Will pas on their shops especially for no fee and just food price.
The RC in my area are quite delicious, especially if you dine in and get to enjoy the crispy chicken strips. (They get soggy if you take them to go and don't eat them right away.) I find the fries are also much better when they are hot out of the fryer. The cole slaw is always freshly made, and the Texas Toast is quite good.
@Fatlady

You were singing the praises of MCD in another thread. But you won't go to RC based on a friend saying it's crap? RC is a very limited menu just like In N Out. How many chicken fingers you want vs how many burger patties do you want (from In n Out).

I don't think RC is crap. I do agree that their popularity has gone to their head and their prices have risen higher than the inflation has.

I agree that you don't take the shop at $0 pay. They bonus to $3, then $5, then $7, then $10 if you lucky to get that high. Report is not bad. My family likes it, so I get the 6 piece combo and wifey and child split that. I don't eat it.
At work (my real life job) the other day my coworkers were ordering 5G for lunch. They asked if I wanted in.

Me? PAY? Like out of pocket?? no reimbursement?! FOR 5G? never.

The store was slammed. I don't forsee them increasing the reimbursement but I imagine the typical price per person is closer to $20 than the current $17.xx. I do remember a few years ago it was $15 something so at least it's gone up a little.
I did a shop recently . Same price it has been for awhile. Maybe this particular franchisee hasn't raised the prices (yet).
If the mileage tax deduction and the time don't make it worthwhile to do one shop, maybe there are enough other shops in the area to make it worthwhile. That's always been my thinking.
