Many, many shops available

Is this thread discussing the same company that requires the shopper to mail their package to one of two designated food banks during the November food drive? I was bummed because I want to send something to family. Locations are $13 now with $15 reimbursement, but I applied for one $25 location that few people want to visit.

Hm, I saw they offered that as an option for addresses to use but I didn't see that it was required...

Shopping domestic and international locations since 2003.
I mailed a few and they cost me $15.40 each to mail Priority mail. I also saw that in the instructions there is a conflict. One says the package needs to be 1.5 pounds and the other says 1 pound. SO which is it?
I just had a shop rejected because the post office scale was way off. The package weighed 10oz. at the post office as shown on the receipt. However, the package actually weighed over 1.7 lbs.

I received an email back telling me the client goes by what's on the receipt and basically, too bad for you. They recommended in the future to tell the clerk to correct the mistake. Really? Who would tell the clerk, "No, I think the package weighs more than that. You must be wrong."

I sent a picture of the box on my Pitney Bowes scale after it was delivered back to me showing the weight and the label with the USPS zip code showing. I received a follow up email that due to the photo I sent them, they will reconsider and it will probably be accepted. I'm currently waiting to hear if it will be accepted. I certainly don't think we should be responsible for the clerk's error or to tell the clerk that they are wrong...Yikes, how awkward is that.

I was called and offered $13 but I noped out of that. $15 or bust for these shops - it's OK with me if I never get another.

It is not required to mail to the food bank. It is just an option if the shopper chooses.

I live in the middle of nowhere so the precious MSC bonused these postal shops up to $75 and when desperate, $125 or more. I won’t touch one in a 200 mile radius for less than $75. I don’t ever do them to send something that NEEDS to go, I do them to make money to support my income… otherwise, I have no reason to drive 35 miles to the closest one in a direction that I never go towards anyway. If the current MSC has the same contract as the previous MSC, then they’re just putting feelers out there to see what contractors will accept them for and will either start paying what the old company did or they’ll eventually lose the contract. Either way, most of us don’t do this as a full time gig, so holding out unless you have something to mail anyway, imo, is the best course of action.
I need to ship something so I would happily do one for base, but every one in my area was scooped up the instant the $5 bonus was added a while back. That being said, I never saw big bonuses with the last MSC in this area either.
I haven't seen ANY of these shops available in my area for OVER a month! (NW corner of SC). So I have no idea what's up with that.

My best guess is that your area locations have no trouble getting the locations shopped so there was no need to increase the fees. On the other hand, the locations in my area (there’s only 6) are spread out so far apart that It would take me two days to drive to them all within the allotted hours covering 398 miles which is the reason why they would bonus so high.

As of today, there are 74 sitting on the board in my area. With the old company they were snapped up pretty quickly. Of course, this company only allows you to schedule 3 days in advance. I haven't done one since they went to the (no so) new company. And especially with the increased weight requirement, I won't be doing one any time soon unless a big bonus comes along.
So I have to vent about the way these are posted. On the board, they give you a three day window. When you go to schedule, a pop up says that another shopper has scheduled a shop for December something and there must be 18 days between shops. Happened on four posted jobs. The system won't allow you to schedule any date later than the three day window. Why are these even on the board if you can't schedule an appropriate date? I so miss the other company's post office shops. They were easy to schedule, the scheduling window was longer; and I never got a message pop up like this one with no options. I have pretty much decided it's not worth the hassle.
