Burner phone numbers?

Does anyone have a recommendation for coming up with different phone numbers?

I have my primary and also a Google voice but I have a couple of jobs that ask for new contact info. I have cycled through asking friends to use their numbers for one job but I'm definitely running out of options.

Thanks for any thoughts!

when you saying different phone numbers...does it has to be in working order as in people can actually contact you?
I use Google Voice too. I tried some of the mobile apps, but I found with some of the free/trial ones, you can't receive text messages. I haven't tried a premium/paid version yet.

I ended up adding a second line for business purposes on my current plan, which wasn't too much extra on a monthly basis. But might not be worth the cost, if not used often. I think on the newer phones these days, you can have one SIM and one eSIM.

You can technically get a Tello sim for $5 that gives you 100 min talk per month + free texting...and then forward all calls to you main number as well

Well, I'm not too positive about that. I have a current shop that requires the use of a new number and alias. I know that a text is sent to that number but other than that, I'm not sure. I do know that I used a friend's phone number in the past and gave a fake name and it became a little issue because the business could see the name attached to the number. Wasn't a huge deal but just that small level of headache that is frustrating when it comes to shopping.
I have a couple of Google Voices, mostly for grocery discount accounts. Sometime since I got the first one they changed the rules. Now I can't call out on any of them unless I "link" it to my real number. I can receive calls & texts, though. I don’t want Google taking over my real number.

That is interesting. I have a Google voice but it is linked to my personal number and profile.
It depends. How many different phone numbers do you need? For how long? What will you use them for?

I pay for an annual, 10-line Burner subscription. That gives me 120 phone numbers for one year and I still have to turn elsewhere for other numbers.

Oh wow. Maybe 6 different numbers in a year. I really only need them for about a week.
If you need all six numbers around the same time, I suggest Google Voice (if you have a real number you can use to verify a new GV account), textme, and textfree first. Then, look into apps with free trial periods. If that's still not enough, get a free or cheap SIM card with a free trial period (such as Mint Mobile). Remember you can use the new number to verify yet another GV account.
I avoid Google whenever possible, which is not often, unfortunately. They are jacks of all trades and masters of none. I found trying to manage Google Voice to be a massive, non-intuitive pain in the patootie.

I use the Burner app.

Works great, and super easy to generate a new number when you need one. It comes out to about $2.50 a month. Well worth it in my book...

Have synthesizers, will travel...
I use the Burner app and the Hush app. I prefer the Hush app because it provides better documentation of calls that I use when I need to submit a call log as part of the shop. Both can send and receive phone calls as well as text messages.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I have Google voice, but I'm not a fan. I use Talkatone and have been quite happy with it. That 120 Burner subscription sounds like something worth checking into...

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown
I miss the old days when caller ID spoofing apps worked properly. So much cheaper! (My project does not need real phone numbers people call can or text. I just need to be able to call out using my real phone numbers.)
