I use Google Voice too. I tried some of the mobile apps, but I found with some of the free/trial ones, you can't receive text messages. I haven't tried a premium/paid version yet.
I ended up adding a second line for business purposes on my current plan, which wasn't too much extra on a monthly basis. But might not be worth the cost, if not used often. I think on the newer phones these days, you can have one SIM and one eSIM.

when you saying different phone numbers...does it has to be in working order as in people can actually contact you?

I have a couple of Google Voices, mostly for grocery discount accounts. Sometime since I got the first one they changed the rules. Now I can't call out on any of them unless I "link" it to my real number. I can receive calls & texts, though. I don’t want Google taking over my real number.

It depends. How many different phone numbers do you need? For how long? What will you use them for?
I pay for an annual, 10-line Burner subscription. That gives me 120 phone numbers for one year and I still have to turn elsewhere for other numbers.
