Gas Station Reveal Recommendations / Favorites

For P66 EIA darkness, I believe I selected that option, or a choice similar to that. After, it only required me to upload my gas receipt. I spent the whole $10 on gas. The location I visited, had all of the lights turned on and pumps operational at the fuel station. The store was closed though. I took a picture of the business hours at the front door.

For this location, I'm very familiar with it, due to shopping it for another MSC for the car wash element. It's kind of a like a higher-end car wash and interior detail cleaning. It was very well lit from the canopy and surrounding exterior light posts. Also, at the corner of a major intersection. To me, I really liked these P66 EIA darkness shops. It just fits perfectly for my area, and I'm a night owl.

I finished my last bonused Shell shop tonight and did another P66 darkness. I have one more P66 darkness left. For Shell, while I don't enjoy entering the report on Presto, I do like the shop and reveal itself. Even though it was a rougher area, people let me go about my business with the safety vest on and moved out of the way for me. One customer was yelling at someone over the phone, but I politely waited. While continuing to curse out the individual, he saw me and politely moved over so that I could continue taking photos as I made my rounds. Another customer asked me where the restroom was in a very polite manner.

The last shop, XOM Site Experience, I'm planning on picking up two nearby. After doing a good and varied number of shops and reveals, I feel confident that it'll just be similar pieces here and there, from other shops done before. But I'm trying to time it right when claiming, for the 24-hour period on Presto.

After that, I think I'm all done for this round/quarter. I don't think any other type shops nearby will be left or will be bonused. The remaining ones look to be the Chevron Image, which are grayed out for me. To keep stating, after each shop and reveal I do, I walked away enjoying it. Each time, something unique does happen, but doing these at night, it makes it feel more interesting and appealing to me.

My son signed up for a bunch of Shells, but we have no place to put the gasoline, both of the cars are full, and the gas caddy is full. So he let them drop. I'm heading for Tennessee tomorrow or today actually, so there might be room in a gas tank tomorrow evening..
Ah yes! I was meaning to research and look into gas containers. But maybe for the next round. Out of luck, I ended up scheduling these pretty well spaced out and rescheduled some. But between two cars, driving more, and sharing with someone else on occasion, gas does go by a lot quicker for me these days.
First, there are only one type of gas station audit that I do for under $20. It is Circle K and appears only on Prestomap. It is unrevealed with maybe 3-6 photos. Quick and easy.

P66 et al These start at $22 in my area. Easier than others. One pump pic makes it quicker. $10 reimbursement to be used as I see fit.

Shell: $14 with two gallons of gas. Currently bonused at $20. Requires photo of each pump, which in a busy station, can be difficult. Requires photo of two restrooms if they are present.

Exxon/Mobile: $12 with $3 reimbursement ($2 gas). Picture of each pump, no overall canopy photos. Rarely do one of these.

BP/Amoco: photo of every pump. Low reimbursement. Rarely do one of these. Fee starts at $18.

Marathon/Arco: $10 and $2 reimbursement in store. One of the Easier ones. Usually I do when bonused to $15. Used to be $7 flat fee. Photos of one pump close up and far away.

Valero: $12 and $5 reimbursement. I do when bonused. Only 4 Valero stations in my area.

Generally, I do P66, Marathon and Valero stations on a quarterly basis. Circle K is monthly. $5 plus $6 reimbursement. ($3 gas and $3 in store. P66 is my favorite, but losing stations due to rebranding in my area. Circle K second due to ease. Marathon 3rd when bonused.

Shell would be 4th and BP 5th. ExxonMobil last.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

Weird, I think I might be locked into CF now.

The place to be IMNSHO.

The other programs are a PITA and not worth the base pay.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
Thanks whosear! I'll have to check out Presto next month for Circle K. This could work out well for me. I overlooked those. In my close area, of all the gas station brands, Marathon looks to be extremely rare.

For CCF next round, I think I can do the remaining ones I didn't do this round in one cluster and one shot. It went by very quickly.
Just as a point of reference, got Shell approved tonight, seven days after. Have one more Shell under review, but feel good that will get approved. More thorough and precise on that one, even though a good number of issues reported. All Chevon, P66, and Circle K approved. Submitted first XOM Site Experience. I got though everything and tried most of what I wanted.

But in the future, I don't know if I will pick up anything. Pretty much everything in my area got picked up at base. Shell only got bonused to $20 before disappearing I might just do Chevron Customer First and P66 EIA Darkness. But if any other ones were to get largely bonused, I feel a lot more confident about it.
Circle k came out a couple days ago. Still at $5, bur it'll likely go up to $8 this weekend, and it goes up pretty quickly after that. They are monthly, so the incentives add up quickly. The last usually get done a few days before the next round at around $25 - $30.

If I pick up 9 shops but can only fit gas from 8 shops in my car, I find somebody who looks like they could use a blessing. Probably done this a dozen times or more.

Once, I had to give a guy in a $100,000 truck, pulling his expensive boat, a gallon of premium gas. I got tired of waiting, and I was not going to drop the shop or drive back to Lodi, CA to do it again.
The Circle K shops within my close proximity are quite popular. Gone like hot cakes. I found it interesting that the MSC also logs the shop on their site. I forgot that it is monthly.

I never thought about gifting fuel. For some of the 7-Eleven, I've been getting a banana or piece of fruit. For the other places, I'll leave the pack of gum behind.
Did two RaceWay. Really like these, on the easier side. Unfortunately, no more in my general proximity.
I was surprised too. When I read up on it, it's like a franchised RaceTrac. There's not many close to me, but I got the two near me, that were near each other. Open past midnight. For me, I like doing it at night. It might've been a RaceTrac before. It was an easier revealed shop. If no issues, only two required photos, excluding receipts. $15 base pay, $5 gas reimbursement, $2 store reimbursement.

The only thing is there's a long list of infractions to watch for, where each one requires a photo. I noted like 2-3 at each one. But compared to the other revealed shops, I feel like the work/pay ratio is not bad at base. If available, I recommend!
Okie, we have both here, Raceway and Racetrak. But I've never seen shops for either. I accept hints..winking smiley
I'm horrible at charades! But big eye or the blob (as it's affectionately called in other threads) via Presto. I believe when I claimed, it gave me two days and 1 hour to submit the report. In the shop name, it stated "Pilot" - not sure if this is new. But, this all seems new to me!
It was probably a competitor shop then. Not for Raceway itself.

Racetrac and Raceway used to be shopped many years ago by a company that changed its name but still shops a couple of gas brands. The pay was minimal even back then, maybe 15 years ago? There was a brief shopping of Racetrac during Covid which was centered only on germ reduction. There was also a very brief, unrevealed shop post-Covid but that never reappeared.

Racetrac has been building many new sites. They need a regular shopping program like all of the bigger chains. Hopefully an MSC or two is hounding them to get on board!
Ah, good to know. Hm, that reminds me. There is a RaceWay LOA that I had to show. The official term is "Brand Standards Inspection Program". Hopefully, this ends up sticking around.
LATE to this thread but above a few of the comments state that the XOM ones need all pump pics..i only have to take 2 pump pics, 3 if there is an infraction. They streamlined the assignment months before this thread started. Those are $45 currently in Texas and take about 7 minutes lol so the ones who were avoiding those because past experience should try again!!
In Dallas, currently I'm only seeing a few at $12. Last month, a lot of locations got picked up early, but one location got to $45 within a short amount of time (looking back it now). But I think after 1-2 weeks, all gone!
Make an accurate list of all photos that you need to take. The rest is how to report it. The list must be the same way that you walk. For example if you always start with the restroom the first photo on the list is the restroom. You miss one simple photo and you lost the whole game.
I started to make a cheat sheet on some of the brands and found it helpful to do it in a certain order. Most of the time, I didn't have to go back and forth between areas. I refined it for some of the "gotcha's."

On future ones, I might start relying less on notes though for potential infractions/issues. Sometimes, that bogged me down.
I make cheat sheets just for things I tend to forget. I take the photos in the order most efficient for each particular station.
Can anyone tell me how to print the BP leave behind sheet. There’s no way to in the Presto app and I don’t have a computer (if that’s what you need) ???
I haven't done BP, but maybe there's a link to a PDF at the top within the shop input form.
The link opens the form but there’s no way to print. If I remember the last time I did these you needed a computer. My laptop died & I don’t plan on replacing it. They need to make these printable with phones.
A screenshot distorts all the smaller print at the bottom of the page that gives the owner ways of contacting BP directly for their infractions.
I used to do these all the time when they paid good. Now I have a local idiot that does everything at first drop including the Circle K’s every month.
If you have access to a wireless printer, you can try printing it that way, but probably have to get on a computer otherwise. Sometimes, I'll print it at work or a public library.

Unrelated, but sometimes, I'll create a PDF from my phone's mobile browser and email it to myself.
Thank you! I totally flaked out on that one. I have it saved to my phone from their website but even saved you can’t read the smaller print at the bottom. But hey that’s not my problem! If you’ve ever done the BP audits they seem daunting but once you do one it’s easy. Knowing what POP to look for is key. And taking extra photos if you’re not real sure about something. Thanks again!
There may have been two BP's in my general area, but it looks like both have been converted to different brands now!
I did a Race Trac shop in TN, but there are a bunch of Race Trac stations here, and I've never seen shops available for them. The one I did in TN is available again, for a much higher pay, I was going to grab it, but I can't get there on the days available. Maybe it'll still be available in the middle of the week when I can go up there, I need to go pick up my glasses up there too.
I haven't seen the RaceTrac shop. But I saw RaceWay on Presto again for some other locations. They get picked up fairly quick though.
