That would be all kinds of awkward for me. After the first "You look familiar; what's your name?" I'd be out of excuses for asking.@olympia tennenbaum wrote:
I have no idea. Luckily my better half has no trouble asking people their names. I tend to get awkward about it. It's also not the kind of place where they wear nametags.

If that's not his natural behavior, you've trained him well! It just occurred to me, that some of us might have done the same dept store shop.@olympia tennenbaum wrote:
Yeah, I definitely squirm. My SO will ask for something like a condiment and when they return he'll ask their name and then thank them by name.
Or, the one that really makes me laugh is we'll say we have a reservation and they'll ask the name and then he'll ask their name.

With food runners and assistants who make a quick hit and run, that could get awkward. Especially if their body language is set to walk away right after. I can only recall one shop I did where that was required, but a description was ok.@olympia tennenbaum wrote:
Well, two of the people were only at the table twice. First one I asked her name and if she had a sister named x. She said her name and not sister but her mother's name was x! Lol. Second person we stopped and asked to get us a spoon and then started asking him all about some flaming dish. SO awkward to ask!
Hm, are you sporting any new clothes or shoes?

The shop I did was for attire, but couldn't purchase a discounted item. I ended up getting a casual shirt right under reimbursement. I let the associate recommend one, but then I steered him to the brand I wanted. It's a brand usually not available at discounted stores. The reimbursement for these shops used to be higher, but I thought it wasn't too bad.
$50 reimbursement. The narrative took about 10-15 minutes for me.@olympia tennenbaum wrote:
How much was your reimbursement amount? I'm guessing it's the same place but that we might not be the same gender lol.

I'm male. I was looking at past shops. Earlier this year, it was $100 reimbursement for shoes. Then dropped to $70 reimbursement for a recent shop. This recent shop was the first one I've seen for attire. How about you?
@Okie wrote:
Hm, I checked and the $100 reimbursement was back in March. If the reimbursement keeps going lower, he might just want to pass on the shop. For shoes, the client doesn't really have anything that you can't find somewhere else, and it's cheaper there! Unless he was already planning to purchase a specific pair and comes out ahead with the reimbursement.
Pft, TXRH narrative? Come on!@drdoggie00 wrote:
Texas Roadhouse. It was a good meal and only went over by a buck and some change. Just wish I didn't have to write about it now. -lol-
