Honeybaked Ham

Has anyone taken one of these? I see you have to order a sandwich or salad to eat in the store and make a retail purchase. Do they specify what the retail purchase has to be? Is the reimbursement enough to cover?

I used to like doing the holiday shops for them even though you ended up a little out of pocket. Not sure if it's worth it with the eat-in part added.

I saw them. It was $50 reimburse, NO pay. Nothing close enough and convenient enough to bother with signing up. I might consider if these shops are around again next month. I could have been "late to the game" when I saw some posted the first time around. A few of the locations I was expecting were not there (or already picked up).
Any hints on the platform? The previous company was shopmetrics, but I keep getting a bad link when I try to login.
Yes, there are 4 specific retail items to choose from. All little sandwich boxes, two of which MIGHT keep you under reimbursement.

It was never on Shopmetrics in my area.

After reading the comments, I looked at the menu. I picked one up since it is relatively close to my house. The specific retail item that I would select anyway is $26.99 and will feed my family for lunch the next day. That leaves $23 for my husband and me to eat lunch. $50 reimbursement sounds good to me. Im all in! I wish I could have self assigned the other one in my city, but it went away after I self assigned the one near my house.

You may want to re-read the instructions. It is not a $50 payment but a reimbursement UP TO $50. These packs are terrible and not worth the 26.99. The rolls are soggy and the ham and cheese are all over the place. (They need to be cut apart). Also, you have to buy a lunch item.
I did read the instructions and did you read my comment? I did say, "$50 reimbursement." I don't think you read anything that I typed. I also referenced buying lunch.

Im not sure why people are salty over a $50 reimbursement for food in today's economy. Call me lame, but this covers a lunch date with my husband or daughter and food to take home. I have a Master's degree and make a nice salary at my full time job, and I am not too proud to take on an assignment like this one.
Im not sure if the retail purchase would feed a group of 5 guys.

Thanks, checked that already so there must not be any in my area. You are awesome.

$50 might feed four guys though, lol. I just had a sandwich from one recently and thought it was pretty good value compared to other fast food.
I only saw 2 of the 5 locations around me listed. I'm not sure if the others were grabbed, or if only certain franchises are shopped.

There's a restaurant by me that gets shopped, it had a $75 reimbursement which was enough for my husband and I to have a nice anniversary lunch. I don't do a lot of food shops but occasionally there's decent ones worth the reimbursement.
Don't forget to calculate sales tax if you're trying to stay under/at reimbursement like me.
I really miss when we could get a whole little crusty ham. Meat and sugar are my two favorite food groups.
I'm with Ses, meat and sugar are my favs, as long as they aren't together. I won't miss doing any honeybaked ham shop, even if they are available here.

I don't eat ham anyway, there is something about the texture and the way my stomach feels afterward. I'm still baffled about that sweet and savory thing, when you add sugar to hot or savory it all tastes like vomit to me.

Today, from shopperbob's earlier post (which did make me laugh), I learned about a different interpretation of the acronym YMMV, which I am quite smitten with. YOU MAKE ME VOMIT. I believe it is applicable here. However, I respectfully interject my opinion, and do not mean to offend anyone.
Honeybaked Ham also sells turkey and chicken salad. There is also a 12 pack of turkey and cheese sliders...just an FYI for anyone who doesnt like ham.
I don't know if gift cards are allowed for these shops, but you can usually get highly discounted Honeybaked Ham gift cards from cardcash.com.

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown

I grabbed one for Thanksgiving a few years ago and recall it had a nice reimbursement and was a pretty tasty ham.
If anyone is cooking their own ham from scratch, regular Dr. Pepper makes a real flavorful glaze.

Thanks! I hope my previous post didn’t come off as negative or bashing. I just learned about this, and there are actually quite a few in my area. I thought this was like Wild Fork, but it seems to be more of a restaurant.

Honey baked ham, the food itself, is not too bad to me. I had it for Thanksgiving in the Midwest one time. That one tasted different. It was well prepared with nuts, garnishing, and seasoning. Also, very tender and moist.

I was about to say I’ve never ever seen one in my area, but just logging in, it’s like the mystery shop gods are punishing blessing me with a hot shop. I decided to pick this shop up in my theme of trying new shops. $50 reimbursement, but only date available with no reschedule option.

I was able to schedule a shop for mid-Oct. That was the only one available. I’m not sure, but it sounds like these shops don’t come around often? Anyways, in all seriousness, I’m glad to get a shop scheduled and be able to try it.
I did a honey baked ham shot today. The reimbursement was $20 sufficient for 12 sliders. There is a suggested list of what you could buy.
I saw that you could use coupons on this shop, but couldn't find a good one. When I checked out, the associate let me know that I should sign up for their rewards program. I ended up getting an extra $9 off. My subtotal came out to $45.98.

I got the gameday slider special that included two 12-packs for 24 total. 12 ham, 12 turkey. I got a BBQ pork sandwich. The sandwich was not bad. I sampled one of both types of sliders. It was quite sweet, but ok. I didn't know it was one large block of meat and cheese in between the rolls. I made sure to cut it up with a knife. I left the rest out at work, and it was quite popular. I saved the box though. It's a good size for shipping. I would do the shop again! If I didn't see DRJ's post, I probably wouldn't have noticed this shop.
OK, I did this last week. I got a chicken salad sandwich on wheat- pretty good, but not worth the $10. I made it a combo for another $4- this entitled me to a can of Coke and a 4 ounce cup of potato salad , which was diced potatoes in mayonnaise- no celery, onion, or seasoning. There are supposed to be 3 types of sliders available- ham&swiss, turkey & cheddar or pulled pork. They were out of the last 2 and only had one package (12 sliders) of the ham & swiss. So I was able to come in under the reimbursement. The sliders are kinda a mess- the ham is in pieces and you have to cut them up. They were good but certainly not worth the price.
