Presto - Difference between a "P" and "I" pin

Lately, looking more and more on Presto. For whatever reason, the card type acceptance shops really worked out for me.

But I just saw these other small business shops with a "P" pin. I have never done the shop with one debit card and one cash purchase. The card type acceptance shops were an "I" pin. I believe both shops were "InstaShop". Is there anything special about the "P"? Thanks!

I don't think there is a difference, they used to make the small business pins RED so you can see them more easily. I didn't even notice the P pins until you pointed it out. Not many by me but they look like the typical small business shops.

You have to buy two identical items, purchase one with debit, one with cash, need a receipt for each to show if they are charging any fees or giving any discounts. Usually also requires a picture of any signage that says they are charging fees.

They are pretty easy but it is location dependent. Some small stores don't like to give receipts. Print out the guidelines because there are many exceptions. Try one, get the hang of it, see how it goes.
Excellent, thank you! I'll give one that offers small purchases a try. Hopefully, some new random ones pop up along the way.

Editing to add: I think that makes sense now, to differentiate the pin. I can apply a filter by MSC, but there's no common term to only return these types of shops. I can use a term like "site" to hide a lot of the results though.

When I use presto I just go to the shop LIST and don't worry about the pins. Perhaps I'm missing something?

If a shop is acceptable I'll do it,if not, I'll pass. I think I've only done 2 presto shops and got paid for both.
To me, that's one appeal of Presto. To see it visually in clusters on a map. It depends on what I'm looking for. The pin gives me an overview and doesn't open the shop. For some, it won't matter.

Yes, this was not pertaining to whether to accept a shop or regarding payment.
Apparently there are more shops in the Dallas area than Utica NY. So the map thing works better for you. Can't help you.
