Thoughts on new Ray Ban Meta Wayfarer glasses

I’ve been reluctant to buy a video camera so I’m unfamiliar with what most video shops require. The thought of trying to conceal it, the expense and potential lack of shops have held me back. Apparently now a lot can be captured with these glasses from Ray Ban.

It says they take ‘immersive videos’ but doesn’t specify much more about video recording. It takes pictures easily and has other cool features for every day use. It seems reasonable for $429.00 but since it’s limited edition they might get wiped out fast. Too bad they only come in clear colored rims, which accentuate the little lens rounds on the corners. Black or a darker color would be more flattering and less obvious.
Was wondering what peeps think about it. I hate the picture taking aspect of most shops - esp. for C stores. How anyone an do them covertly is beyond me.

I think it might be worth looking into - but for MSing, I guess it depends on how much you do - i.e. potential return on the investment...but if you would be using them in your personal life as well....

After using MSC equipment for approx. eight mos.,I purchased my video rig in Aug. of 2009. My reasons were two fold: A larger fee and more opportunities. At that time, the industry logic was that audio/video was the future, but it was not to be. Both the number of shops and the fees began decreasing. In addition, the rejection rate was considerably higher than for traditional shops. My last audio/video job, of approx. 160, was 2 1/2 yrs. ago, so my investment of $400 was quite rewarding.

In my opinion, and in today's shopping climate, one would reap a greater advantage from the heat burning the money would produce than investing in audio/video equipment. That, though, does not include IF one has a SmartPhone, which an MSC will accept, that could be employed to complete the work.

In the past, no video work I recall seeing would accept glasses. The claim was that movement of the head produced unacceptable images.
