Wells Fargo - closing and opening accounts

Yes, the time is the issue for me on these in person shops with or without an appt. It is also true of cell phone shops and others. I have no idea what happens in smaller cities or rural area places but here if one person calls in sick for the day it could put all the appts off by a long time. I did one a few months ago where you had an appt to ask questions about a new acct. My banker was the only one in the branch aside from one teller. I had to wait another 45 minutes past my appt time to even sit down with him. But even when fully staffed the person before you could go over time leading to a long wait in the lobby. Time is money so a well paying mystery shop turned into a not so well paying mystery shop.
Likewise I have gone into cell phone stores on my own time and had to wait forever to speak with someone.

I've done a few CC ones. The first one when they were new paid $75 and I was stunned at how easy the report was for the fee. I've never seen them pay that much since then, but I just took one for $50. I don't find it too hard to back out. I just say I want to pay down my balance on other cards before I get a credit check and apply, or I want to check out the Chase CC's first. The report is easy as pie. The problem is it can take a long time in the bank if the banker is chatty about it all.

I agree... that would stink. I do recall reading some verbiage that if you wait longer than 20 minutes, you could leave and get partial payment.

They did away with the appointment requirement for Chase shops, which could be good or bad. Of course, what's the first thing they ask about on the shop forms? Your appointment, with pictures of either the confirmation or the scheduler showing appointments weren't available. -shakes my head-

I'd be happy if they did away with them for Wells. Gives me the option of just popping in and taking my chances.

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown

Oh my, I don't know how you guys do these complaint shops. I think I would botch these shops.

It's not bad when they do what they are supposed to and open a complaint or don't open a complaint. It's bad if they call you after your were there. The MSC supposedly removes the complaints after 10 days. If you want to try it, be polite, but committed. It takes a little acting sometimes. The complaint where you felt pressured to open an account is easier than saying the account is unauthorized.

I took a screenshot of where they said that an appointment is not required and put that as my comment. They will probably update the survey for the next round.
I just did one, but I actually wanted the card and put the app through. I did think about stopping the process tho, right when you are putting in your income, can just say, on second thought, I better think about this more. Or, I just remembered I'm planning on getting a new car soon, so I better not have a credit inquiry. My awkwardness came from the fact that I had the same banker I just shopped by opening an account 2 months before and he remembered me!
I'm also constantly amazed during the phone complaint shops how many bankers DONT make a complaint. It's like they havent actually been instructed what to do in this instance, which you'd think they would after all these years.

If you applied then the hard pull is already there so you might as well enjoy the benefits of the card. Hopefully it has a bonus.
