Number of MSCs you're registered and active with

I was curious how many MSCs you're registered with? And these days, how many are you active with?

I remember when I first started being active on the forums, it said to sign up for all the ones listed on the spreadsheet. It said this could be over 100. I thought this was suggested in jest. But when I read some posts that some are signed up with over 100, then I realized this was true for those that shop regularly.

When I counted mine in my bookmarks, I was surprised that I did register with 38. Of those 38, I'm active with 17. I know all of us will have varying numbers and there's other platforms to consider, but I was interested how active everyone is these days.

I have an entire folder of MSCs with the sign in info. Looks as if there may be about 30 that are still active. I think I actually do jobs for 5 or maybe 7.. But I mostly just shop for Ipsos, STN and SeeLevel (Intouch Insight).
I’m not sure how many I’m signed up for. I actively use 4, I would say monthly but maybe about 10 on an annual basis. It depends. I’m still making a name for myself at some newer ones.
I think that at one point a number of years ago, I was registered with about 75 or 80, but many of them I never worked for - and quite a few are no longer in business now. Looking at my spreadsheet, I worked for 15 different MSCs so far this year, versus 19 last year. Out of this year's, some of them are one-offs or MSCs that only have occasional shops in my area. My core group for which I shop fairly regularly amounts to four.
I'm probably signed up with about 40.
Have probably only shopped for about 15-20, based on location of course.
and now? maybe active with 7-8 and only frequently with 5-6.
My A/R spreadsheet shows 79 MSC vendors. I've received payment for work from 11 of them this year. Last year I did work for 16 of them.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
More than I thought. I am signed up with 50 but not all of them have work in my area. I have done work for about 20 of them this year but some are just one or two jobs here and there. I would say there are 15 I am consistently doing work for.
It looks like I worked for 14 last year. Probably fewer than that this year.

I'm not sure how many I'm signed up with. I tried to follow the advice of signing up for them all but it just seemed like I hit a patch of MSCs that had no work in my area and stopped the process of signing up for more.
After a quick check over the companies I've worked for this year, I counted about 20 with most of my consistent income coming from about 7-8 that have shops every month. I don't know how many I'm signed up with since so many companies have been gobbled up or gone away, but my guess is 50+

I used to sign up for anything and everything I could get my hands on back in GWB first term (when i started shopping). Most I have never done anything for. I think I find that I stick to a core 5 MSC now. I don't do this for a living so I can be ultra-picky with what I decide to take on. Someone's my old habits "bubble up" to the service and I take something and think "what the hell did I do that for?" I've learned to stay away from lame paying shops like See's candy. As a Berkshire Hathaway stockholder, I should care about one of the companies I own (See's is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Berkshire conglomerate). But I can't bother with the pay and scenario for a couple pieces of chocolate. I used to do these in the early 2000s. Same with the Haagen Dazs shops. Pay really never has increased over the years, so my interest level has decreased as well.
I used to do See's after I moved to AL. I was surprised that they have a store in the mall in Huntsville. Back in CA the uniform company we used also serviced the See's plant. Our uniform guy brought us boxes of candies that didn't pass muster. I never would have quit that job..
I signed up for like 20 of them, but out of the 20, I only take jobs from 5, and out of the 5, 1 is my bread and butter, it covers 98% of my "side hobby" income, while remaining 4 are more just for the free food

As much I would like invest in WB, that's a little too rich for my blood. I'll just have to watch a YouTube video of the annual meeting. I was thinking about this, and I am glad that I invested a sizeable long-term amount in TXRH before it took off, and held on. Actually doing the shops though, there was some gratification to witness the traffic and operations in some of their restaurant locations. Where some locations weren't as ideal, there was a little bit of a person gratification to report shortcomings.

During 2023 and to date in 2024, I have done shops for 39 different companies. I am signed up with way over a hundred.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I am signed up with about 15. I usually do substantial amount of work for about 5 of them. The remaining I will do if they have something that will work on my routes.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.

"8" will suffice cool smiley
The thoery of signing up for all the companies is you never know when they'll pick up a client in your area. And it happens.

And companies you are signed up with will stop sending email notifications from Sassie for some reason. I haven't figured that one out yet. But I wonder how many companies ive signed up with no longer send me email.

Got an email from ACE today. I haven't done a shop for them in years.

Hm, I've also noticed that some schedulers that deal with specialized shops will also email me on occasion for other MSCs I'm not signed up with. In that case I don't really mind if I am fond of the scheduler.

What turned me off Haagen Dazs was when they decided that you had to have the name of the server and that a description wasn't enough. That would be fine if this company actually made their employees wear name tags, which they don't. In my experience it's maybe a 1 in 3 shot that the employee will have a tag, and of the ones with tags, it's another 1 in 3 shot that the tag will be legible, since they are allowed to hand-write them and handwriting is not taught in schools anymore. I'm not good at drawing the name out of an unlabeled employee in a quick-hit interaction like Haagen Dazs. At a bar when I'm going to be there for an hour, sure.

To answer the OP's question, signed with about 75. Active with maybe 10-12 tops.
