Bar/Restaurant Evaluation

Coyle has listed a bar/restaurant eval at a white tablecloth restaurant near me. It's been years since I've done one.
Remind me, are they treacherous? tedious? not worth it? the pay is low, so the reward is the meal basically.
Why we can't see the guidelines or report before submitting an application?

You will likely have to report on all timings. When you arrived, were greeted, time you ordered, time order arrived, time server checked on you, refilled water, time plates removed, time ordered dessert, time arrived, time check arrived, time check returned, time exited, etc.

Also opening and closing quotes from key people, descriptions or names of all staff, etc. It's a ton of info but if you do many I suspect you get into a rhythm.

It takes me a couple of hours to do a report. I prefer places where I don't have to visit the bar but I do also do them. So, I'd call them tedious with the level of work involved. Worth it if you want to eat at the restaurant. If you don't, then I would not bother.
I second having to note the time events occurred, and opening and closing quotes. Whenever I do a Coyle report, I have to reframe myself on how the narratives need to be written.

You basically have to decide what the few hours of reporting time is worth to you, and make your choices based on that. For me, I am not going to take an assignment unless the reimbursement is $150+, or I really want to visit the establishment.

As far as seeing the guidelines/report aheads of time, almost all of the dinner/bar assignments are exactly the same, so if you have done one, you already know. The examples in their system pretty have the standard dinner/bar reports for you to see as well.
Thank you all very much, this is helpful.
I'll likely stick to their med spa evaluations, unless the pay spikes.

I do a fair amount of dining/bar shops. I usually either leave pinching myself that I'm getting the meal covered, or kicking myself for having to write for hours about a mediocre experience. Either way though, it's a lot of detailed writing.

If you'll regret the amount of work you might as well just skip it.
They also have a hotel eval near me....which I find interesting because it's a small, independently owned lodge attached to a college, very few amenities....and yet they time those to coincide with college events...I am too apprehensive lol.

Give me a plain old Hilton lol.
I used to do Coyle shops often. They sre tedious and took hours to write the reports. I don't know what I was thinking. We did go to restaurants we would never visit though. I would rather go to Texas Roadhouse and have the report finished by the time we get home.

Having done many Coyle shops, I'm always so appreciative when I shop for another MSC and it's so simple. I always figure I'm giving others way more details than they bargained for because I'm used to writing so much!
I only did one Coyle shop and it was a tedious beginner shop where nothing was reimbursed. Never again but it is only recently that I have seen nice dining at other msc (not to the highest level but at least $80 in reimbursements) where they have not wanted exact timings of every thing to the second and exact quotes. Now I have a few where all they want is time in, time out and is this or that less than xyz minutes. It still takes me hours but enough less hours so it is not worth it to me to go back to my old dining assignments from before the pandemic. What a relief not to have to report every second. ! I will not be your competition at Coyle.
Coyle has listed a hotel lunch shop and only paying $15. It does not list how much you were reimbursed. Has anyone else seen or done these?
