Sonic in the News

I just read a news item, where KPB Brands, who currently owns some KFC, Taco Bell and Arby's locations has just taken over 85 Sonic locations in Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. I know this is a drop in the bucket for the amount of Sonic locations around the country, but the franchisee who previously owned these locations had an active mystery shop program that was separate and different from the national mystery shopping program. I have shopped these "Sonic Boom" shops for over 12 years, previously with a MSC who went out of business a few years ago, and since then with the chicken strip MSC. I completed these last month, but then noticed they were gone for September, and now I see why. I guess these shops will be gone permanently. I'm still waiting to see what will happen with the national program, as it seems it's hit or miss with the locations that are currently showing up between two MSCs.

In my area, there's groups that develop and operate multi-unit restaurant franchisees across multiple states. It does play a factor in which locations get shopped and participate in the specific program.
D.L. Rogers is a large Sonic franchisee in ten states. I haven't figured out which program they're participating in, if at all.
