Lidl changes

A few changes for this round:

1) You're assigned to either a staffed checkout or a self-serve checkout.
2) Yay, no more canned beans! Cannellini beans, Northern beans, garbanzo beans are out. So are yuca roots. Among what's in are seasoning mix, gravy mix, cabbages, red cabbages ... the only canned goods I can see are New potatoes.

I am so glad you posted this because I just picked up some stores for next week and honestly haven't bothered to look at the guidelines. I usually do so when sitting in the parking lot because they never seem to change anything.

The guidelines were is desperate need of updating. The bakery departments don't even sell half of the items they want you to purchase anymore. They replaced a lot of them with cookies, donuts and muffins. The yuca roots were so darn big that one of them added up to all of your reimbursement. I usually opted for the cucumber and zucchini instead. At least I can make zucchini bread!

Also, I used to get half pay for the stupid self checkout - but I did learn a trick, if I said I only had cash, they had to actually do the checkout for me.

I will have to go print out the new guidelines and look them over. Thank you!
hmmm, Koko, you're making me wish there were Lidl around here.. I sure could use some reimbursed cabbage.. don't know what I would do with the gravy mix though..
I do like Lidl a lot. I wish they expanded more into other areas as I don't have them in my area, but I shop there if I am traveling to an area that has Lidl.
Hm, after some digging, it's like an Aldi? Any hints on the MSC? (Yes, I know, thank you for your patience.)
It is indeed the primary competitor of Aldi.

I thought Lidl and Aldi were owned by the same family? I might be wrong.

I was wrong, Aldi and Trader Joe's are owned by the same family. Lidl is just another German owned company.

Thank you smiling smiley
The cabbage put me over the reimbursement. I will be buying the backup items going forward. Im sure they won't pay me the overage.
Are they still requiring the extremely transparent "put a case of soda under your cart but don't buy it"?

It astounds me how many assignments make it so that any half-conscious employee will immediately recognize it as a mystery shop.

Yes they are. However, the only employee that ever sees it is an attendant at the self checkout. I think ONCE an employee saw it and it was because she was really tall. The design of the checkout does not allow the cashier to see the bottom of the cart. Very flawed design.
One of my shops was excluded because I didn't purchase chili seasoning in a "packet" rather than in a shaker top seasoning. I asked an associate at the store and that is what they showed me. If you want me to buy a "packet" then you should specify, the guidelines did not say. You can bet I emailed a few people on that one.

Has anyone found chili seasoning packets? Just curious because I searched in all of the stores I went to and did not see any. I found the taco seasoning, the gravy packets but not chili.

Actually, what bugs me about this is that they won't let you buy the damn soda and reimburse you for it, because I would never in real life get to the checkout stand and change my mind about buying a case of soda, lol.
