My son does dumpster diving, but he sells almost nothing from it, though he talks about it sometimes. We already talked about selling food items, it won't happen. He can give it away to folks in need, or he can feed it to the chickens. Some things I eat too.
I keep hearing "boars head" and not hearing "liverwurst." It is not the roasted sliced meat that is NOT made in the VA plant that is the problem. I hear the same @#$%& on the news too, "boars head" as a brand rather than the specific product and the plant that it was made at that are the actual problem. It's almost like someone is trying to put boars head out of business on purpose.
Boars head cleaned up their mess, they closed the VA plant where the listeria came from. I don't know if they make liverwurst in another facility, but if they do, it is likely ok to eat it.
And finding food in a dumpster does not make it bad. We stopped getting food from food banks because they were giving us out of date and stale food. We find fresher food, still inside the "best by" date, and often still frozen or still cold from refrigeration in grocery store dumpsters.
