The interesting thing is that every grocery chain I've ever seen has positioned Boar's Head as the premium deli meat...lol - makes me wonder about regular unbranded meat lol.
There's an old school Italian deli in the city close to here....I expect a run on their meats lol.

We have not heard that any shoppers got sick from their $5 purchase. That is the only good news about that. And Liver? either liverwurst or liverbest I cannot remember anyone ever liking it altho it was served by my mother growing up. I do remember tho when I was in Katmandu for about a month I found a restaurant serving liver and ate there frequently. For some reason i was craving it then. Maybe thoughts of home did it.

I guess I'm going to think hopeful thoughts and figure that there's been some remediation since the conditions came to light and brought enormous bad publicity to the company ... I'm taking the leap to credit them with enough sense of self-preservation not to go back into production under the same conditions. And I didn't get sick off the pre-recall meat ... but I totally understand why your mileage may vary.@BarefootBliss wrote:
Just got the email. $10.
For the prior shops, depending on how long you waited for the fee to rise, it might be doable if the location is close and you're going to get some food to take home - but now?? would you eat it now, knowing what you know? even if it's not on the short list of deadly meats, all you have to do is read about the reported factory conditions.....gross.
It's enough to make a person hurl.
I say raise the fee now and toss the meat when you get back home.
PS/ this is the cue for those posters who like to point out that we're already consuming yucky stuff we don't know about....ok, gotcha mr/ mrs obvious, lol - but this time we KNOW.
You can buy anything you want, as long as it's a Boar's Head product. I generally just go with the suggestions but you don't have to.@Rho* wrote:

My question is---some of you previously posted about purchasing different flavors of non spicy chicken. I interpreted the instructions as saying we had to buy what the associate suggested. How did you get associate to suggest anything besides basic 'honey gold' or whatever-it-is-named chicken?
