Store clerks introducing themselves

Is anyone else in the Northeast doing the grocery store chain where the clerk in each department is supposed to offer their name? I've done 7 of these and not one person has introduced themself. No surprise at all.

I have not seen those shops. What a ridiculous thing for employees to have to focus on.

"Hi, I'm Harold, and I will be slicing your meat today. I promise to be gentle with your meat, and to slice with love!"

People are not chess pieces that can be manipulated through lies. The lesson is... that anyone who looks upon humanity as if it were a game of chess deserves to lose.
While conducting the listeria shops, I met some rather nice clerks at the deli meat department. Introduced themselves, offered me a sample, and visually showed me the different levels of desired thickness to cut.
I can absolutely see deli clerks offering a sample (another required interaction for these shops) and showing thickness, but introducing yourself (in every department!) is a bit much. I wonder what the employees are thinking of getting marked down for this.
There was one grocery shop I was interested in, but it required an evaluation of too many departments. I believe one of the requirements was something along these lines, where you needed to attempt an interaction. Surprisingly though, it consistently gets picked up every period.
The Grocery store I shop says, employees will be wearing name tags or will introduce themselves.
No one has ever introduced themself. It's not a question on the form though. So, doesn't matter if they do it or not.

Yes, I did one today. I honestly hate that shop so I avoid them, but had a weak moment yesterday and grabbed my local store.

I was thrilled that they got rid of a bunch of the old inane questions, but I laughed over that new question as well! Not going to happen at my store. Ever. And it would be super weird if it did! I have done a bunch of them and I don't think anyone has ever approached me. I always have to hunt someone down. It's hard enough getting the greeting quote, when most of the time I have to speak first.

Too many such (silly) requirements that impact their performance ratings probably sparks talk of unionization at the supermarket.
I'm in the Northeast but never see ANY grocery store shops. Would love to know if Hannaford's or Shaw's are shopped.
No, they aren't introducing themselves. I would hope that the company is offering training so that these employees know they/re being evaluated using this criteria.
It would appear they don't know....something seems wrong about this.
