Texas Roadhouse. Has anyone used the app rather than making the call?

I see on the form that there is a comment that says if you use the mobile app you can mark the call ahead seating section as N/A. I suppose that has been there for awhile, but I never noticed it until last month. The guidelines still say a call is required. Has anyone not done the call and did you have any issues with the editors?

I have always called. It says required so not taking a chance at shop rejection. I guess if you use the app, you better have a good reason
Yes. I noticed that as well, so this most recent time I used the app. I was so happy because I felt like the calling was archaic. I did not have any problems. I still received a 10.
The really bad gang needs to update their guidelines. I do not do TR shops, but I do others for them and the guidelines of many that I do are terribly outdated. Otherwise, I like them.
I have used the app, but then the form states you MUST have the name of the person answering call. So then I called afterwards and put someones name in, basically defeating the purpose of me using the app. I'm not sure what we are supposed to do in this case, I meant to ask the scheduler.
I use the app and then use the name of the person who we talk to when we arrive at the hostess stand.

I always hated making the phone call. We go early, and calling five minutes after they open saying you want to be put on the list is just stupid. Half the time, they'd tell me there wasn't a wait and to just come in when we got there.

You can use the app, but the problem with the app is that you can't state your arrival time if you want to do that.

I always call but end up using the app. When I call, the automated system says they don't do reservations but joining the waitlist can be done online. Never had an issue reporting this.
I used the app and when it asks for persons name when calling I put N/A used app. I did this twice now and got a 10 on both reports. I'm glad they changed it because I feel like it's a giveaway as a shopper. I doubt many still call in to place their name on the wait-list.
Lately, I've been doing the bar shops. It tends to be available on the board for a bit longer. (But I think slightly less reimbursement.) To me, it's easier on the report and a couple of less requirements. No call or app requirement. Walk straight to the bar and seat yourself. But a shorter time window in terms of a more comfortable experience. That place always fill up, but at least with dining, you get your own booth.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to try the app. I always call because it said it was required, but felt that it was dead giveaway that I was a shopper. It would be nice if they updated the guidelines.
Lol. I miss that shop. It was only reimbursement but the report was easy enough it didn't really matter. It was nice to treat friends too.

For the last couple of years, the TX Roadhouse in my area does not answer the phone. An automated system answers and tells you to go online to get on the Call Ahead List. There is an option to press a number and get a live person, but I have always followed the directions and accessed the Call Ahead List online. I do call each time to be sure it's the same. Then in the report I explain the automated answer and entering my Call Ahead online. My reports are always accepted without question.
