One Chip Retrieval Shops...$$$$$$

I e-mailed Tom, and within an hour both of my expense reports were updated to approved. Now, I guess I'll wait another 3 weeks for the checks.

Shouldn't be that long. They cut checks on the 5th, 15th and 25th each month.

How are the payments coming along? I have been waiting onone since 11-10. Anyone else? I would love to do more jobs if I could get reimbursed faster.
I was paid for my early Oct shop last week. I then sent them a check for what I owed from my advance.
They just approved mine from 10/31, so hopefully within another week they will get yours approved. Mine from early November aren't approved yet.

I just got an email about mine from 10/29, but nothing so far for the one I did a week prior to that one. At least there's some movement.

I'm waiting on my last check, which was cut 11/21. I hope it gets here in the next few days.

My 11/21 check arrived today.

I'm still waiting on nearly $5,000, which I will likely have to pay to the credit card before the check arrives.

One check is on the way. Still waiting on a fairly old one. Will have to follow up if it the status doesn't change on the website.

There are still some locations with product out there.

I was offered a really remote job requiring an all-day drive. Probably would've done it if I weren't traveling this weekend for a family celebration.

I finally got my last check yesterday. About time!

Overall, I'm not impressed with this company. If something happened and they went under, a lot of people would have ended up holding the bag for thousands of dollars. Completely unacceptable, and not professional. I accept many people have had positive experiences in the past. IMHO, however, they need to either do a better job when they take on large projects or not take on such large projects if they don't have the capacity to do them. It almost seems as if they did not have the cash on hand as the project dragged out, so they were having to wait to get their money from the client. Whether that's true or whether they are poorly organized does not matter - both of those are red flags.

@ServiceAward, you make some good points.

I wonder why they do ACH for the smaller advances yet they send big checks through the mail? Looking at one of the checks in the window envelope, it just screams "CHECK" because it's on blue marbled paper and if it shifts to the right just slightly you see the letters:

THE
DER
OF

Hmm, I wonder what this could be?

Where I live mail theft is a big problem. They really need to rethink their payment process.
Also, I don't understand why they can't combine expenses reports. They owed me $2k and I owed $1k because they applied an advance to the wrong set of chip shops. Seems really inefficient to everyone to send multiple checks.

I had the same concern. My mailbox is along the road and there are some nasty, disrespectful kids around here who cause trouble. (They went into my backyard and got a decorative rock and threw it into the back window of my neighbor's car one day.) I would not put them past taking someone's mail, check or otherwise. I won't put even small orders for my online customers in the mailbox. They either go within camera range of the doorbell or I take them to the post office myself. Anyhow, true or not, I tend to think of FedEx as a more secure way to send checks. They did it with the small advances (even after I sent them my bank info.) but not a $1,000 check??
@ServiceAward, exactly. Here's your $200 advance via ACH... and here's your very obvious check for $2,000 or $3,000 or $5,000 one poster was waiting for.
I feel bad for anybody who'll end up getting stuck paying interest on a credit card because of how long the payments are taking.

Did anyone have a check dated 11/21/23 from RQA that was actually delivered? Like many, I'm waiting on a large amount of money from them and was relieved to see a check date finally listed...but concerned the check never arrived. I'm a 2 day mail journey from their offices, so should have been here a long time ago. And there seems to be no accounting department email address listed.
I received a check last week.

This company has been around a long time - at least 10 or 15 years, they do other projects (possibly through another company name) but things like food taste tests and such. I used to live near their home office. I do agree with many of you that the payment processing, sending checks back, getting checks in the mail, etc. is a pain but I hope some of you will be reassured that they are legit and not likely to go out of business. I'm guessing this project was just more haphazard than expected.
Companies that have been around for years go out of business every day. I get what you’re saying, but look at the track record of MSCs that have gone under and left shoppers holding the bag.

Luckily mine ($5000) is going to a Post Office Box. Fed Ex delivers there too, fortunately.

I'm OK with waiting, just not thrilled with paying the Visa with my own funds. This project pushed me over the 135,000 points that I needed for the Southwest Airlines Companion Pass.

Yes, mine that came on Friday (12/1) was dated 11/21/23, and it was for jobs the first week of October. So...two months.
OMG. I think I've been incredibly patient with this company...until today. I've had A LOT of money change hands with them over the chip project, with few problems. For one location, I owed them a small amount (~35) due to an advance. I got a notice to pay, and then a phone call. I was told they could not deduct the amount I owed them from what they owed me (~2400) and I would need to send a check. I said that they would get their 35 after I got my 2400. I was paid and then promptly sent them a check two weeks ago, providing the necessary info they asked for on the check. I then got a second notice and a few days ago a "FINAL DEMAND" for payment. They still have not cashed the check. Yes, it's possible, though unlikely, the check was lost in the mail. More likely is that they are as backlogged in processing payments as they are in making them. When I tried to log on today to see the status I was blocked and could not access the site. Unbelievable. Good riddance.

That is insane. Eventually, they are going to be reported to the BBB, if they haven't already. I know I won't be doing any more jobs with them either unless they are going to provide proper advances up front. I also agree with you, I would have not paid them one penny until they sent me the thousands they owed. That is a very poor business practice and, whether they are or are not, the behavior is similar behavior to that of scam artists.
Must be a Nigerian prince on their payroll.

Edited to add: It's a Christmas miracle. I finally have a check date.

I also received my check dated 11/21. I still have one batch of locations from early October that hasn't even been sent to Accounting yet. However, they did give me an advance that covered the out of pocket.

I still love this company, even though there are several things about their payment process that need revising.

@ShopperGirly, no you do not need to worry. I've done a decent number of jobs for them and all of mine are "Meets" so you should be good.
No, that is what they all say. The only ones I've ever received an "exceeds expectations" were consumer retrievals where I left immediately to do urgent out-of-town pickups of mice in beverages. People understandably wanted to get the dead mice out of their freezers.

Just struck me as funny. In my corporate career, "meets expectations" really meant "start looking for another job". LOL

Mine arrived a week later.

Currently waiting on my check cut on 12/5, and expecting it early next week.

I'm still waiting on one last expense report that was held up by errors on both ends. They failed to properly input data for one stop, and I double-entered a reimbursement amount. Got it solved quickly once it was brought to my attention. As mentioned previously, reaching support can be an issue, but when a connection is made, communication is prompt, friendly, professional, and, most importantly, effective.

This last one will be the first time I've had a credit card payment due before receiving adequate funds from the company. Luckily I've got cash flow from other areas to cover the balance.
