Extra Space Storage

I may have asked this before and honestly - can't find it. Anyways............I'd like to do a few more Extra Space....BUT since I"ve done one, my name is in the database. I don't see how I can go to a different location and fudge my name - because they ask for a license or I.D. I called and the call center picked up and when pressed they said a physical license "may not be needed" but a driver's license number or passport number can work. Wondering -- does their system have ability to look up license numbers or passport numbers? Seems rather odd if they have that capability.....

Corporate employee of ESS here. Our POS system does have access and save driver license numbers for tenants. I'm not sure if it is saved if you do not rent, but if you are a tenant or have been in the past, I can see it in the database.
As for the shops specifically, I obviously can't do them because it's a conflict of interest so I don't know the guidelines, but what if you say you forgot the license at home?

Nixkit - thanks for replying! Question: I understand your system saves DL info for tenants. BUT, if I gave them a bogus DL number - AZ12234542. Will the system tell them that this is not a real license ? Thanks On forgetting the license - yes I thought of that -- - but if the guy doesn't rent me a unit - well, not only did I work the shop and not get paid - the MSC will count it against my score because - it would be an incomplete shop
I have never completed one of these shops (they just don't interest me) so I am not familiar with the guidelines but could you possibly do the shop and when they say 'oh you are already in our system' just say 'yep, I rented a few months/years/whatever ago and now I need it again!'
I accepted my first such assignment for $30, this due to being in the area. What I failed to factor was an employee working alone and showing a unit to another person. In addition, there was also someone ahead of me. I learned from this experience and held out for $50 on the next shop; fortunately, in comparison, it was a quick visit. Going forward, $50 is my bottom fee requirement.
You can give them a different phone number, which the guidelines suggest and which I can do because I have a google voice number. So I have 3 phone numbers (landline, regular cell no., google no.). I also change my google voice number from time to time so I can give a totally different number.

I've done both the inquiry-only shops and the rent/reveal shops over the last 2 years (2 of each), plus did one about 5 years ago, and actually did rent for about a year at one location. I've never had any trouble going through the scenario. With the inquiry-only one, I give a fake name. On the rent-and-reveal ones, nobody has ever found me in the system, to the best of my knowledge, and have always been surprised at the reveal. I don't believe I've never had to give my DL any any of these shops.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

BabyBooey - I'm not sure how that would work. I will ask around to our operations department to see if I can find out if they verify the license somehow. Without giving too much away, I'm part of a team that doesn't directly use the DL info for my job, I just have access to the system to get other data. I'll loop back around here when I find someone with an answer.
You can use a nick name. I don't think they pay too much attention to your license.
