Just wondering who on this site has a full time job outside of shopping and what do you do?

I am an editor and writer, mostly but not exclusively technically focused. I started MS years ago to get out of the house productively during slow times. Anyway, I've worked from home flipping words for much (albeit not all) of my career. I started MS again during covid, once more to fill in the gaps in the schedule. Since then, MS has started to seriously edge out the other, and I am loving it.

Teacher. I started in 2008 by picking up a single shop daily on my commute to supplement my (disgracefully low) salary.

I've been shopping since 2003. I am a software engineer. Anyone who knows me knows I'm always looking for a deal or way to take advantage (legally). I never want to pay full price and love BOGO offers. So shopping is like that too. Allows me to do dinners or trips and NOT pay for it (or significantly offset the cost). My family knows not to ask to eat somewhere when I have to pay out of pocket that I am able to shop. For example, if they wanted In n Out or 5 guys, I would tell them, we can eat there when it's a shop. Pick something I cannot shop if you are making me spend my own money :-)

Full-time Medical Librarian. I've been at my current library job and have been mystery shopping for 5 years. I really enjoy both! Started the mystery shopping due to a divorce that took away 2/3 to 3/4 of the household income I was used to having.

I'm in the health and wellness field, personal trainer and nutritionist. That is my W2 job. I started shopping in 2010 for extra income and have a hard time paying full price for anything!

ESG Certifications Engineer, a recent change from a Midstream Oil & Gas Pipeline Engineer.

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.

I am investigator for a company on the east coast. I travel 90% of the time for work and I have a company car. I pick up restaurant shops (company gives me a per diem) which allows me to “double dip”. I also do airline shops, hotel shops and various shipping shops when time allows.

sounds like a great combo!!!

It is nice! I ran it past my company’s legal team and they see no issue with it. It fits with what I do and gives me a little extra $$.

I started MS after I quit full time teaching. Subbing and mystery shopping have been great semi retirement

Regional Manager for a fleet company. Fairly new to shopping and have been doing it since Sept 21. It’s my fun money and funds my concert hobby.

Me14, did you know some concerts are shopped? And some big name awards shows want "seat fillers". I think it doesn't pay, but you get to go to a red-carpet event for free.

Recently retired from a longtime career....would like to branch out with mystery shopping, but probably will need to move to improve my chances with that lol.

You might be surprised how many of us do NOT work full time because we are RETIRED! So there are those of us who do this either part-time or as a hobby. I USED to be a fairly heavy part-timer until 2013, when health issues got me. Now that I'm over those, and of retirement age, I do this as an enjoyable hobby.....with lots of grocery shops, which helps tremendously with our social security budget!

Administrator for FSA, HSA, HRA, benefits. MS since 1996 when I worked as a data collector that also conducted shops and merchandising.
