Gas Station Graffiti

Those stickers are no less graffiti than a gang tag and the people applying them are no different, either.

The stickers are a form of non violent protest. Sad you don't have the same reaction to the summer of burning down the country or the increase in murders and other crime.

Regarding whether or not "he did that" my feeling is when we where energy independent the price of a gallon of gas was $2.00 and change. Now that we have limited drilling the price is $5.00 and change. My conclusion is yes "he did that" but I don't need pump stickers to remind me.

This country has not been energy independent or oil independent since before the OPEC embargo in the 70's.

When I left California, gasoline was close to $3 per gallon, as I drove across country to where I am now, the price of gasoline gradually dropped. When I got to Alabama the average price of regular gasoline was a $1.69 per gallon. That was 2015, President Obama was still in office, and it was well before the election. While the former president was in office, gas prices gradually rose, It was a little over $2 per gallon before Covid shut everything down. We were spoiled by low gas prices because there was no demand for gasoline because nobody was going back-and-forth to work we're off to work for almost a year.

And then when people started going back to work the gas companies didn't increase production to keep the prices low. The gas company's wanted the price of gas to go higher, so it did... The cause of the higher gas prices prices is because of increased demand because people are going back to work, and the gas companies not increasing production to artificially keep the prices high.

The sanctions on Russia and not being able to buy Russian oil is only a very small percentage of the increase in the price of the gasoline. The main cause of the increase in the price of the gasoline is because the oil companies will not increase production (they have the ability, even without russian oil). They know that if they keep us uncomfortable and cause uncontrollable inflation that we will blame the current administration.

President Biden is currently releasing 100 million gallons of oil from the strategic reserves every single day to try and bring down the price of gasoline because the oil companies won't do anything to help. It's helping a little, the price of gas here has gone from $4.25 per gallon to about $3.50 per gallon.

Everything I have said here is verifiable fact, NOT my political opinion.

You don't know what you are talking about and only parrot the ignorant and hatefilled talking points from corporate media. When I read such nonsense i am reminded of the commercial from the 80s with the skillet and eggs.

Respectfully, just ignore things you don’t like rather than censor them?
Oh boy...this is gonna be fun. I understand both sides of the argument. However, this board is for mystery shopping, so political statements and views really are not what I come here for. Maybe some do, but it doesn't seem necessary to have them in here when looking for information about shops or companies. But I do think if someone is gonna pop off with something political, then the other side should be able to respond.

Because this particular thread is about gas and gas stations, of course it turned political. Wondering if we can have the panda express thread turn political too :-P
I agree. It is a total waste of my mystery shopping time to read political posts on this Forum. Yes, I can ignore them, but I have to read enough of each worthless message to know that it is worthless. In terms of mystery shopping, all sides of a political argument are worthless. It is up to the brand owner to decide what is graffiti as far as mystery shopping is concerned. If you don't like their decision, complain to them and by all means, leave the shops to those of us who want to get paid.

We have threads for what people eat for breakfast, "What are you doing today? (besides shopping)", and other topics which I can easily ignore (and I do) because they are all grouped together. If we had a topic called "Political Rants", "The Liberal Agenda", the "Conservative Agenda", or anything else like that, I could and would easily ignore the entire thread. When the posts get intermingled, it is a total waste of my time.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I just completed a gas station audit that had a pump with the sticker. I counted it as graffiti and took a pict. The company approved the submission, so in my world, it is graffiti.
Yeah, I was calling it what it was - a sticker. However, the company docked me a couple points and said it was to be entered as grafitti and not as a sticker. Question 8a vs 6a, I think it was.
There is no question that the company considers Biden stickers as graffiti. See page 5 of the current updates (callouts) where it pictured.
Hey folks, just a gentle request to keep it positive . . . We're in this together. We never like having to shut down a thread, but will do so if the contributions cease being positive.Thank you. Forum Moderators
I have seen a bunch of the stickers, and yes I handle them like every other form of vandalism political or not. I'm not there to have an opinion or judge anyone, but it is the responsibility of the station to clean and check the pumps regularly, if they don't, it's not my problem. I understand this sounds cold, but in reality I'm there to do a job and that job is to follow the instructions given to me by any of the companies I work for. I put aside my opinion and handle it professionally. I have been told by mutiple stations that Goo Gone works well on the pump face to remove the stickers, it will also works on the glass area's on the pumps as well, but don't use a scrubber on the glass face, as it will scratch it.

My concern will be when the governor of Illinois pushes the stations to place large stickers advertising his suspension on the gas tax increase till January, 2023. Will they classify that as vandalism or not?
I’m now seeing a new version of The Sticker, with a 2024 endorsement of you-know-who and “I Can Fix That.” So the vandalism continues.

And - I just saw a report form that has been updated to include “sticker residue” as a negative on pump condition. So the gas station attendants are going to have to get out there with Goo Gone and Exacto knives.
