FIVE GUYS IS BACK!!

I haven't seen a shop in a long time for The Habit...but when I did them, boy were their burgers yummy. The price was decent too. I'd eat there on my own dime. They also have salad choices. They are in the NE too.

The Habit was good. The small company that shopped them was very nice to work with. I heard the guy died a few years back.

The shops stopped (as far as I know) a little before YUCK Brands bought them out.

I get a cheeseburger once a month. I typically get a salad.

@HonnyBrown..I say hold out for the higher pay and do them less frequently. Your arteries will thank you. I wait for a phone call or, on occasion, get a $35 or $40 orphan from the job board.

Ahhhh, that explains why they had Pepsi products when I got my birthday burger.

I think the change to the pepsi crap in the restaurants is a more recent thing. Wonder if it's also corporate vs franchise. My buddy in Seattle says his still does Coke. Maybe they are slowly replacing them all?
They're playing major hardball on the MAOs this week. Basically rejecting every one, including at one hard-to-fill location where they're already backed up on lunch shops. Fine then. This usually results in them offering $50 a few weeks down the road to play catch-up. Bunch of dumfuks. I could have used one today to help fill out a route but if that's how they want to do it, I'll pack a sandwich and wait.

This is the second week in a row that I've asked for $25 for a location that always got that and been rejected. Both shops were available each time. I actually took the $5 delivery shop for next month at my local FG since I haven't been getting the in-person shops, and it's a shake shop. Of course, it took me out of rotation for the in-person shops for now, but it just makes it less frustrating when I don't get it. I got a text a couple of weeks ago asking me to do a location 40 minutes from me for $18 that I've done before for $30. I responded that I was going to be passing by that location that day and would do it for $25 and did not hear back. Of course, it was a Thursday, so I didn't expect them to accept it.
Must be some late month desperation. I got one of the 906 calls last night, kinda late.
She asked if I would take one about 40 miles from me. I asked the pay, simply curious.
$18.
Thanks, no but have a good evening.
Rejected my $30 MAO on Friday. Got a call at noon yesterday offering $25 with no offer to submit my $30 offer for lunch today. Guessing I'll get another call tomorrow asking me to do the lunch shop for my $30. But i can't do that location at lunch as i also work. SMH. Stupid.
Well the two jobs my MAO of $30 are still on the board at $22 now. Waiting for the call tomorrow asking me to do them for $30.
And now I'm getting a survey request for grocery shopping where I can win a $50 Amazon gift certificate. When I click the link it brings me to a place I can accept a $10 shop. No thanks.
Did my first in-person shop in a while today, since they offered $30 on Monday via text. I probably should have waited until Tuesday, since last week they offered $35 then, but $30 was OK. It was a dinner shop, and I ran into the stupid restriction that does not allow you to say it was dark out if it's before 5pm, even though it gets dark around 4:30 here.
RE: The Habit.
I used to shop them in the DC area.
I still remember the tempura green beans lol.
Those places were very clean, very efficient, very tasty.
Hope they don't have 5G in alaska where at some times of the year, it is dark 20 hours of the day. I'm sure they have not programmed for this anomaly in their process.

You mean it's like you can't say the bun was soggy if you ordered mushrooms or some other add on?

Yep, mushrooms or grilled onions I think. You can't say the bun was soggy.
I'm not a fan of soggy buns or even saggy buns :-)

I get lettuce wrap. And i usually get both grilled and raw onions.

Since I eat only once or twice each month at 5Gs, I really enjoy their food more. Last week's fries were heavenly. And the burger was good, too
They're now starting MAO in my area when the shops are at $12. IMHO thats ridiculous. But maybe they get offers for $15 which is what the MAO shops are listed for now. I've seen them disappear from the board.

I'll still hold out for mt $30. I don't need the shop that much.

Yeah I don't really understand the point of even asking if they restrict the answers. I don't ever do dinner shops, so curious - do they allow you to say it's not dark out if it's after 5PM?

Yes - it doesn't get dark here in the summer until after 830. But, I know that in eastern NY where I was from, it would be dark -as in completely dark - by 5 in December

They rejected my $30 offer when the shops were at $12 yesterday . Now they're at $18 and they called offering $22 then $25. Saod I needed $30. Not even an offer to submit it for approval. Things have really changed. Not sure if its the MSC or the client. My guess its the client with so many restaurants filing bankruptcy.
I would take the shop for $25. I can't think of another fast food shop where you will even get close to that on a regular basis. But I enjoy the food and might only get it 2x per month. I won't do for under $20.
I did one recently. The fries were heavenly. Some of the best I've ever had at Five Guys. But they were crispy. Even the big pieces were crispy. I hated having to narc on this location for making the best fries I've had in a long time, but I did.

Hey Five Guys, reconsider your "standards." Like seriously, you think ANYBODY is saying, "Let's not go to Five Guys, I hate when the fries are crispy. I like those chewy kind-of-undercooked skins."

That's a QSR shop being done at many different chains. It's not a shop for 5G and not the same MSC.

100%

As for the fries..obviously they got a really good crop recently. The fries over summer were very hit and miss...generally miss on the soggy side....but the fall so far....mmmmmm, hitting that light crisp..only had one miss.

I don't feel like reading thru 60 pages to see if this has been commented on....but I've never done this part. Does anyone else stand at the counter and unwrap your burger to see if it is correct? Only a shopper would stand at the counter and open the burger. A "normal" customer would go sit and upon opening the burger notice something was wrong and come back to the counter to say something.

I know they say "if you do not notice." I'm curious why they bother saying to have your order corrected before leaving the counter. It would be easy if they did not put fries in the bag, but no way to know how many patties you got or what toppings might be wrong.

CHECK YOUR ORDER FOR ACCURACY. If any part of your order is wrong, including toppings or size of fries/sandwich,
have your order corrected before leaving the counter. If you do not notice until after you sit down or after you have started
eating, go back up to the counter to have the error corrected. Don't include the correction time in your timing. Do NOT ask
for a refund
