FIVE GUYS IS BACK!!

@MisterBill

Yes, it's funny they went as far as blocking people doing that....but they didn't make it so schedulers wouldn't call the person who dropped the shop. They forgot that piece of it. :-)

I got a milkshake shop this week!
Lucky you! If there was one in my area this week, it's already taken.

I see that next month's delivery shops have milkshakes.

Should I reduce my fee to $18 for a higher volume of shops or stay at $22 for the leftovers.

"I told myself to quit you; but I don't listen to drunks." -Chris Stapleton
There was a $35 one today in the greater Phoenix area. It was 30 miles from me, so I did not take it. I have a dinner shop at a restaurant. Now, had it been close, I would have taken it, but it was in the wrong direction.

@HonnyBrown....the answer to your question is based on why you are shopping to begin with. If this is hobby-based and you can afford to be picky, then don't lower your standards. If you need $, who can complain with getting almost an entire meal, plus $15 (i reduced it by $3 since you probably go over reimbursement).?

Name another fast food place that is quality (some might debate this) that is going to feed you and pay $15 or more? The report is NOT difficult.
@HonnyBrown..I say hold out for the higher pay and do them less frequently. Your arteries will thank you. I wait for a phone call or, on occasion, get a $35 or $40 orphan from the job board.

I finally gave in and took my local FG for $20. I'd always gotten $25 and had resisted taking less, but I'd been getting very few of them. They had an online order lunch available this week for $18 so I put in for $25 and hoped for a counter of $22, but they came back at $20, so I took it.
Just checked and the shops at my local FG are already taken for the next two weeks, as well as the delivery shop. This used to be a hard-to-fill location that I always got $25 for. Hopefully some of the new shoppers will flake out and they'll become available at higher prices.
@MisterBill sounds like he's going thru 5G withdrawals. :-P

I like 5G and want to do more of them. I was out of town this past weekend though. Maybe I can get some for this upcoming weekend. Last one I did was for $20. I'm not going to complain with a combo meal and netting $17 pay too. I like the food and the report is easy enough. it's the best pay out there for fast food and the quality of the food is superior to Sonic, Panda, etc.
Woke up this morning to a text offering $35 for a dinner shop in my area (30 minutes away, not the one I posted about yesterday. I actually wanted it for that price, but it got taken by the time I checked sad smiley.
yeah, I like those Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday morning shops that pop up from flakers over the weekend. Haven't seen any of those recently though. I really wish they would come up at 1am or 2am, so I can grab one before going to bed.
I am going out of town in a few weeks and there is a 5 Guys where I am going..

I was thinking about going someplace else but when I notice a 5 G I may be changing my mind..

Choices choices smiling smiley
I wish @JacobJ or The Mods would close this thread so we could start a new one on Five Guys. Nobody is going to read through 59 pages of old posts.

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown
Wow, this is like a blast from the past! The last Five Guys I did was sometime pre-COVID.

Not sure if it helps, but you can use olympia's trick to help navigate/jump to the page you want. By updating the "59" in the link below.

Yes, that's some type of error.

The easiest way to jump to the new, unread posts is to click on the blue "new" box. It'll take you directly to the new posts in that specific thread.

I can't refute this!

But this thread, I can flip through to page 20 within 10 min.

It's nice though how it's all in one thread though after all these years. Maybe someone can start monthly Kroger reports. The day with the most repeat-posts (caused by the forum).
Am I mistaken or were 5g shops listed for $15 on Thursdays (if not already taken)? I am seeing $13 today. I thought it was $15 on thursday for shops that started that day thru Sunday. Then Friday would go to $18. I think the next jump was to $20.
Same in my market. MSC is smart - they know they have people who will do it for less - so why wouldn't they offer less to start with? I remember approx year ago I wrote that the number of people shopping will increase - well - here we are.

To each their own. For me, I'll do the one next to my kid's school for $18 - that's on the way. Otherwise, $22 and up. I know I miss out on some, but makes me enjoy the $25, $29, etc even more.

I dont need to drive for a free meal and, well, I prefer Burger King more anyways smiling smiley

I got moderated because my post had someone else's text with the MSC name. I reposted and put XXX in it's place:

I can't compare BK to MCD. I won't go to either place. BK to me is depressing though. The colors, the theme song, etc. If I'm going to a national chain like MCD/BK/JITB, i will take Carl's Jr/Hardees over those others. Next choice would be Wendys. But if I want a QUALITY BURGER, i'm sticking with 5g and In n Out.

I have seen the Whataburger here in the Phoenix area. Haven't brought myself to going and spending my own money on them. Too busy shopping other food places currently.

@wrosie wrote:

I like Burger King. Much better that McD IMHO. 5 Guys are just different. Maybe it is the flame broiling at Burger King.

If you visit the Sothwest, checkout Whatabuger, a chain from Corpus Christi. My late night after the bar go to for years. I dont think it's shopped.

I've noticed XXX has MAO when posting shops at $13 at the two locations near me now. I still ask for $30 and they decline until they need them filled.

I remember visiting one as a child in Corpus Christi. I think Mahomes started some in KC.
I also like Wendys better than McD. Freshly made as is Whataburger. You're in Dallas. Spend your own money. You won't be disappointed I guarantee that. I'll mail you a check. It'll be in the mail. And I have no stock In the company.

It seems on the West coast In And Out and Fatburer and perhaps also Smashburger are shopped.
Don’t worry, I tried them all in a previous life. It was good at the time. But different type of lifestyle now.

Sorry, I re-read this. I don’t have anything against anyone liking this food. I try to stay outside of these types of topics, but somehow got myself into this one, by accident.

In and Out is the best in the whole US.[/quote

I tried it in Vegas and felt it overhyped. Same with Fatburger. Again in Vegas.

Did a couple of Smashburger shops in Dallas, and perhaps I just dont get it. Different strokes for different folks.

But apparently you feel about In and Out like I feel about Whataburger.
The ultimate three-way for me - smiling smiley would be Burger King burgers, McD fries, and McD Fountain Coke.

Ok I'll admit 0- I am a pig. Total pig. Big appetite and I love junk food so much.

Five Guys I do for shops and 1 out of 5 visits I think "man, I get the hype. This is so darn good!". The other 4 times I just don't get it. Also, if I get the REGULAR bacon cheese - meaning two patties - I'm still hungry after I'm done....and what is that, like $21.00 total meal? BUT at Burger King if I got Bacon Angus King, fries and Coke.....I swear the burger to me is so much better than Five Guys and truly - with maybe 2-3 bites to go I feel full, like truly full and instead of $21 the meal is around $14 or less.

Then there's the touch-screen soda. "oooh lookeee I got me all these choices just to have a frigging soda!" ok great- but the stuff doesn't taste like it's supposed to - case in point, Cherry Coke. I feel that McDonald's Coke tastes so much better ....and for $1.49 it's a fair deal.
IDN, But I Don't think anyone can beat Burger King for the best burger in the NE US.
i feel bad for the NE US if BK is the best they have. I don't think their whoppers are bad. They are decent. The fries are trash. The whole place is depressing. It's like the K-mart of Fast Food just waiting to be put out of it's misery :-P
